(QNO) - Implementing Document 3046/UBND-KTN dated May 18, 2023 of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province on promoting electricity saving and ensuring safe and stable electricity supply in Quang Nam province during the dry season and 2023, the Management Board of Investment and Construction Works of Tam Ky city has directed Tam Ky Urban Public Service Joint Stock Company to implement electricity saving solutions for the public lighting system in the city.

Under the coordination and guidance of Tam Ky Electricity (Quang Nam Electricity Company), from May 18, 2023 to present, Tam Ky Urban Public Service Joint Stock Company has reduced lighting capacity by 50% on roads with 2 lighting lanes, reduced lighting capacity by 30% after 22:00, and turned off all unnecessary advertising and decorative lighting systems.

The company adjusted the lighting operation mode to turn on 30 minutes later and turn off earlier than the prescribed time, prioritizing the operation of LED lighting systems to replace the previous high-pressure lighting systems. In addition, the unit also increased inspection, maintenance and repair of the system to improve operating efficiency.

In June 2023, the entire lighting system in the city saved nearly 90,000kWh, equivalent to a decrease of over 16% compared to May 2023, saving about 188 million VND for the state budget. Through implementing electricity saving, it contributes to improving the stability of electricity supply in Tam Ky city during the dry season and 2023.
