Thang Binh celebrates longevity and wishes longevity to 5,306 elderly people

(QNO) - On June 11, the Association of the Elderly of Thang Binh district held a conference to conclude the activities of the association at the district level and review the 6-month movement "Old age - bright example" in 2025.

In early June, communes and towns organized longevity celebrations and birthday celebrations in 2025 for 5,306 elderly people with a budget of over 2 billion VND at ages ranging from 70 to 100; 125 were over 100 years old.

In the past 6 months, the elderly at the grassroots level have mobilized benefactors to give gifts to 76 elderly people in special circumstances with a total amount of 38 million VND. Continuing to coordinate with Quang Nam Eye Hospital to provide eye screening for 3,054 elderly people in 20 communes and towns, including free lens replacement for 375 elderly people.

Up to now, the Elderly Association has 20 grassroots associations with 28,900 members, reaching the rate, of which 1,400 new members have been admitted to the association (60 years old and over), reaching the rate of 9%.

On this occasion, the Association of the Elderly of Thang Binh district awarded 6 collectives with good achievements in the movement "Old age - bright example" in 2025.
