After an easy win in the first game, the Vietnamese women's team faced many difficulties against North Korea. However, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's players maintained their concentration at the decisive moment to win the match and move closer to the semi-finals.
The Vietnamese team showed their superiority in the first game. The North Korean team attacked simply and their players were at a disadvantage in terms of height and jumping range. Therefore, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates quickly won with a score of 25-17.

The second game was not much different. The Vietnamese women's team still dominated the game, controlling the situation well, although there were still many situations that exposed weaknesses in the first step and the ability to defend the back line leading to losing points. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team won 25-20 in this game.
Leading for two games without much difficulty, the Vietnamese team suddenly fell behind in the third game while their opponents made significant progress. The North Korean team attacked more diversely, not just relying on their main attacker Kim Hyon-ju. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese team made more mistakes and let their opponents take a big lead. Thanh Thuy was still the mainstay of the team with her scoring runs in the fourth position, but that was not enough. The Vietnamese team lost 20-25 in this game.
Entering the fourth game, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's players showed signs of fatigue while their opponents showed their physical superiority. The North Korean team defended more durably.
However, this was the game that left a strong impression on Thanh Thuy. She scored a total of 7 points and had a turning point appeal. Thanh Thuy asserted that the ball was in the court and the technology of the organizing committee confirmed this. After that, the Vietnamese team began to gradually widen the gap.
At the end of the game, the North Korean team continuously scored to reduce the score to 22-23. However, at the most important moment, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's students maintained their concentration to win 25-22.
This victory helps the Vietnamese women's team gain 5 points. If the Chinese team wins against Korea in the late match tonight, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will enter the semi-finals of the ASIAD for the first time in history.
