After nearly a month of physical training and technical tactics at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, coach Mai Duc Chung and his players of the Vietnam women's team have entered the stage of completing the squad and testing personnel.

The list of 26 selected players has been officially announced, with 4 players having to leave the team due to professional reasons and injuries, including Tran Thi Trang, Luu Nhu Quynh, Cu Thi Huynh Nhu and Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha.

Coach Mai Duc Chung said: “We have had an effective month of training, with 5 friendly matches, including the match against Werder Bremen women's club, despite only preparing for a week. The following matches against the men's teams in Vinh Yen, Son Tay, and Bac Ninh all brought many valuable lessons. The whole team has stabilized their physical strength, spirit, and playing plan for the upcoming training session."

The team's youth strategy has been maintained since the 32nd SEA Games. Coach Mai Duc Chung emphasized: "Without the next generation, our achievements will fall behind. Therefore, the important goal is to help young players get used to the living, training and competing environment at the national team level.

Regarding overseas Vietnamese player Nam Mi - a new face called up, coach Mai Duc Chung commented: "I appreciate Nam Mi's training spirit in the past two weeks. She needs more time to integrate and demonstrate her ability. We need more overseas Vietnamese players with conditions to contribute to the national team."

According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's team will go to Japan for training in the early morning of June 8. Coach Mai Duc Chung said that the Vietnamese women's team has won the SEA Games 8 times and the Southeast Asian women's championship 3 times. These proud achievements are the result of useful training sessions abroad, including in Japan.

"Japan is one of the leading countries in Asia for women's football, with a system of quality clubs and players. Training here helps players learn a lot, expand their knowledge and tactical thinking. That is the most direct and effective way for Vietnamese women's players to progress," said coach Mai Duc Chung.

Friendly match schedule of Vietnam - Japan women's team:

June 11: match with Iga Kunoichi Mie FC

June 13: Match against Tezukayama Gakuin University

June 15; match against Osaka University of Sports and Health Sciences
