The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has just approved the policy of exploiting the passenger transport route by high-speed boat from Pier No. 4 - Bach Dang High-Speed Boat Wharf to Tam Thon Hiep Inland Waterway Wharf (Binh Khanh Commune, Ho Chi Minh City), proposed by Can Gio Urban Tourism Joint Stock Company.

This transport route will contribute to the development of waterway transport and tourism in the city, while creating more options for people and tourists to visit and experience tourism in the Can Gio area.

The Department of Construction requested Can Gio Urban Tourism Joint Stock Company to proactively contact the People's Committee of Binh Khanh Commune to consider and approve the high-speed boat of GreenlinesDP Company (leased to Can Gio Urban Tourism Joint Stock Company) to dock at Tam Thon Hiep inland waterway wharf to pick up and drop off passengers; and develop a plan to upgrade the wharf infrastructure.

The exploitation plan must also ensure the ability to receive high-speed boats with a capacity of up to 151 passengers, ensuring safety for passengers getting on and off the wharf; while at the same time limiting the impact on the daily activities of people when sharing the wharf.

The Department of Construction proposed that the People's Committee of Binh Khanh commune create conditions and consider guiding businesses to dock at the Tam Thon Hiep inland waterway wharf, and coordinate with Can Gio Urban Tourism Joint Stock Company to deploy a number of works, infrastructure, and auxiliary services for route exploitation activities such as waiting rooms, restrooms, parking lots; food stalls introducing regional specialties; cultural activities to develop passenger transport and tourism products in the area.

Previously, Can Gio Urban Tourism Joint Stock Company also proposed to sponsor 3 200-ton ferries for Binh Khanh ferry terminal to enhance traffic connection in Can Gio area. These vehicles will be managed and operated by the youth volunteer force, supporting the increase of service capacity of Binh Khanh ferry route.

The funding covers fuel costs, labor costs and other operating costs. The operating period is estimated at 2.5 years, tied to the completion of key infrastructure projects in Ho Chi Minh City such as Can Gio Bridge and the elevated railway line from District 7 to Can Gio./.
