Like many other localities in the area, after having to temporarily suspend the preliminary examination work to focus on the task of preventing and overcoming the consequences of storms and floods, immediately after the floods passed, the Military Service Council of Vy Da ward urgently accelerated the progress of the preliminary examination to promptly finalize the number of soldiers to ensure that the examination work at the upper level was carried out according to the set plan.

Comrade Dang Van Trung, Commander of the Military Command of Vy Da Ward, Hue City, said: The time for the medical examination is approaching, but the preliminary selection has not been carried out yet due to the impact of floods. In the face of the above situation, the Military Service Council of the Ward has developed a supplementary medical examination plan to ensure resources for the medical examination and recruitment work and to call citizens to join the army in 2026. Although the medical examination work this year has encountered many difficulties, the Military Service Council of the Ward is determined to complete it well and exceed the assigned targets.

Being the first year of military recruitment under the 2-level local government model, the implementation process encountered certain difficulties such as: large population, large area while the majority of young people of military age were working far away. In order to select excellent young people with good health and political qualities to join the military service, the Military Service Councils of wards and communes mobilized the entire political system, did a good job of propaganda and mobilization, and strictly and seriously implemented right from the grassroots. Thanks to that, many young people working far away still strictly obeyed the call and were ready to join the army.

The preliminary medical examination is carried out strictly and seriously by the local Military Service Council.

Young man Tran Khanh Duy, residing in Vy Da ward, Hue city confided: "Although I graduated from university and have a stable job in Da Nang city, when I was called for a preliminary medical examination in the locality, I strictly followed the decision and was ready to go to fulfill my civic duty."

Like Tran Khanh Duy, young man Ngo Quang Nhat in Huong Tra ward, Hue city said he is working in Hanoi. After receiving the preliminary examination order, he arranged his work and returned to his hometown for the preliminary examination for military service. If qualified, Ngo Quang Nhat is ready to join the army.

Local military service councils strictly review the background of young candidates who pass the initial medical examination.

According to regulations, young people who undergo preliminary examination will be checked for height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, eyesight, skin diseases and common diseases. To ensure the preliminary examination process achieves good results and ensures transparency, the medical team has also selected experienced and highly qualified doctors and nurses to participate in the examination.

Doctor Ho Van Thu, Head of Phu Xuan Ward Health Station, Hue City said: "After receiving the plan from the Ward People's Committee, the health station established preliminary health examination teams and assigned specific tasks to members to conduct preliminary health examinations with high results."

In the coming time, to successfully complete the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army in 2026, the Military Service Councils of wards and communes will continue to strictly implement the stages and steps with the motto "whoever is recruited, that person is sure"./.
