The seminar had the participation of speakers: Painter, artist - curator Nguyen The Son, School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Architect Tran Huy Anh, Standing Member of Hanoi Architects Association.

The program is coordinated by Mr. Pham Minh Quan, art researcher and educator , School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

At the seminar, the speakers discussed the relationship between art, architecture and urban planning - fields that seem separate but are involved in reading, preserving and creating the city's memory. Through the works of artist Nguyen The Son to the maps and sketches of Architect Tran Huy Anh, the seminar suggested new ways to recreate urban memory through the language of art and interdisciplinary approaches.

The audience and attendees sat listening and following the speakers' discussions.

Speaking at the discussion, painter, artist - curator Nguyen The Son emphasized that urban memory is not only contained in relics or planning documents, but is present in the way artists, architects and residents feel, remember and participate in the movement of Hanoi . The interdisciplinary spirit is seen as a way to re-establish the relationship between data - emotions, past - present, technique - art.

The event also raises important academic questions in the context of rapid urbanization: How to integrate modern governance tools into the creation of visual thinking; the potential of spatial data as a creative material; and the role of art in connecting people to the silent history of the city.

In addition to introducing new approaches to art practice and urban management, the seminar also contributes to opening up an academic space for dialogue on how to preserve the “soul” of Hanoi in an era of rapid change. This is also an opportunity to look back at the value of urban memory as a component of identity and a driving force towards a more humane and sustainable city.

The discussion “The Crossroads: Memory, Interdisciplinary Art and Urban Governance” is not only an activity connecting knowledge, but also a suggestion about the future of the city - where art can become a bridge between data and people, between memory and new possibilities of Hanoi in the making.
