City: Inauguration and handover of Red Cross houses to poor households

Responding to the humanitarian month of 2023 with the theme "From the heart of each of us, joining hands to build a compassionate community", on the afternoon of May 16, the Thai Binh City Red Cross Society coordinated with the City Fatherland Front Committee to inaugurate a house of gratitude for Ms. Dang Thi Tuu, Nguyen Du village, Vu Dong commune.
The provincial Red Cross Society leaders presented support money to Ms. Tuu.
Ms. Dang Thi Tuu, 74 years old this year, is a poor and lonely household, in a particularly difficult situation, her husband and children have died of serious illnesses. Ms. Tuu is old, often sick, has no source of income, the level 4 house she lives in has deteriorated and is very dangerous every time the rainy and stormy season comes. Faced with such a difficult situation, the City Red Cross Society has agreed with the local government to promote and support the cost of building a new house for her. After nearly 2 months of construction, the solid, closed flat-roofed house with an area of 35m2 has been completed and put into use, with a total cost of 150 million VND. Of which, the City Red Cross Society and organizations of the province, city, and locality supported 60 million VND; 95 million VND was donated by brothers, friends, and neighbors.
City People's Committee leaders presented support money to Ms. Tuu.
This is a meaningful and practical work, demonstrating the humanitarian bridge role of the City Red Cross Society as well as the social community in humanitarian and charitable activities, joining hands with local Party committees and authorities to do a good job of social security, helping the poor in difficult circumstances have more motivation to rise up in life.
