Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said that over the past month, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has been practicing according to the training plans of Australian fitness experts, thus improving their strength and endurance. The physical preparation is not only aimed at the AVC Nations Cup 2025, but also at all tournaments this year.

From June 7 to June 14, at Dong Anh Stadium ( Hanoi ), 11 Asian women's teams will compete in the AVC Nations Cup 2025, including: Australia, India, Taiwan (China), Iran, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong (China), Mongolia, New Zealand, Philippines and host Vietnam.

The teams are divided into two groups, playing a round robin to select the teams to enter the ranking round and compete for the championship. This is a tournament with annual FIVB Ranking points, and the champion team qualifies for the 2026 Asian Women's Championship.

At home, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team aims to defend their championship title. If they complete this task, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will be crowned champions of the Asian Volleyball Championship for the third time.

Vietnam is in Group A with opponents Australia, India, Taiwan (China) and Hong Kong (China). These are teams that are rated lower and have often lost to the Vietnamese girls in recent confrontations.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet assessed: "Kazakhstan is a competitor for the championship with Vietnam. Last year, on the way to defending the championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team beat them twice. But currently Kazakhstan is ranked 1 place above us.

Even if we win, we can't win easily. This year, playing at home, there are two sides to it, we can either excel or have psychological problems. In terms of expertise, I think the chances of both teams winning are 50-50. Therefore, we cannot be subjective."

Preparing for the tournament, the Vietnamese volleyball team traveled from Quang Ninh to Hanoi on June 1. Regarding the squad, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet has just finalized the list of 14 athletes.
