This morning (July 16), Le Thanh Nguyen Huy, a 12A2 student at Duc Trong High School, Duc Trong Commune, Lam Dong Province, burst into joy when he checked his high school graduation exam scores. His exam scores were 8 in math; 8.25 in literature; 8 in chemistry and 10 in English.
The 2025 high school graduation English exam was assessed by candidates as very difficult, the reading passage was long and like the IELTS test, with many new vocabulary words from specialized fields, but with a perfect score of 10, Nguyen Huy was admired by many friends.

Use almost 50 minutes to solve the exam
Sharing with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, the male student from Lam Dong province who got 10 points in English said that after finishing the test, he checked the results and found that everything was correct, but he was still worried that he might have made a mistake while filling in the answers. This morning, when he found out he got 10 points in English, Huy was very happy.
The male student commented on the 2025 English graduation exam: "The test has many strange words, the reading passage is confusing and makes students confused. The 10-sentence reading passage is very difficult and complicated, requiring a very good vocabulary, high in-depth reading comprehension, and sensitivity in handling long sentences."
Huy added that he had to spend almost all of his time - nearly 50 minutes - to complete the English test and only had a few minutes at the end to check the results.
Owner of 10 English points: National excellent student
Le Thanh Nguyen Huy has always been the most outstanding student at Duc Trong High School, Lam Dong Province throughout his three years of high school. His average score from grade 10 to grade 12 is always 9.7 - 9.8, of which his average score in English is always 9.9 or 10.
Since he was a 9th grader, Le Thanh Nguyen Huy won first prize in English in the Lam Dong provincial excellent student competition. In 11th grade, Huy continued to win first prize in English, also in the provincial excellent student competition.
In grade 12, Huy won second prize in the national excellent student exam in English. Huy was also the candidate with the highest achievement in the whole Lam Dong province in English in this exam (before July 1, 2025, the 3 provinces of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan , Dak Nong had not merged into the new Lam Dong province).
Nguyen Huy is always the best student at Duc Trong High School.

Notably, since the summer of grade 10, Huy took the IELTS test and achieved IELTS 8.0. Of which, reading skills reached 9.0; listening reached 9.0; writing reached 7.5 and speaking reached 6.5.
Huy wants to become an English teacher so he plans to put his first choice into English pedagogy, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
The achievement of second prize in the national excellent student English exam for grade 12 helped Huy qualify for direct admission to the English pedagogy major, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education in this year's admission, as long as he passed the 2025 high school graduation exam. However, Huy still tried hard to study without being subjective and achieved high scores in all subjects, including 10 points in English.
Self-study spirit is very important
Huy loved English since he was a child, mainly watching cartoons, documentaries, and videos in his favorite fields such as history and scientific research in English. However, it was not until grade 6 that Huy started learning English with Mr. Truong Quang Nhu Huan, an English teacher at Duc Trong High School, Lam Dong Province.
Mr. Huan is a strong inspiration for Huy so that he not only loves this subject but also wants to become an English teacher - like him - to be able to inspire other students to learn English.
According to Huy, from his experience, to learn English well, in addition to studying hard, the spirit of self-study and self-research is very important. At the same time, to be able to do well in English questions similar to high school graduation, students must "practice in-depth reading comprehension skills, as well as need to read newspapers, pay attention to current issues, activities happening around, practice expressing opinions and have social understanding..., from there it will be easier to solve the exam".
