In 2026, Vietnam National University of Technology (VNU) will continue to recruit students for 20 training programs with 4,020 quotas, remaining stable compared to the previous year, using 3 admission methods: considering the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam, considering the aptitude test (HSA) organized by VNU, and considering the SAT international aptitude assessment certificate.

For admission based on high school graduation exam results, most majors use three main subject combinations: A00 (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Mathematics, Physics, English), and X06 (Mathematics, Physics, Informatics). For Biotechnology and Agricultural Technology, the university adds the A02 combination (Mathematics, Physics, Biology).
Therefore, in 2026, the school will streamline the admission combinations, leaving only the A-block combinations (mathematics, physics, chemistry/English/informatics/biology), and eliminating the B00 (mathematics, chemistry, biology) and D01 (mathematics, literature, English) combinations as in this year.
For direct admission, the school follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, but does not consider candidates who have won science and technology awards. Priority is given to students who have won awards in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computer science for all majors, and additionally in biology for the biotechnology and agricultural technology majors.
Vietnam National University of Technology (VNU) is currently a top-tier technical and technological university. In 2025, the university aims to have 14 out of 20 majors with admission scores of 25 or higher, with the highest score being 28.19 points (out of 30 ).
According to the school's statistics, out of a total of 4,111 new students enrolling in the 2025-2026 academic year, 95% achieved 24 points or higher; 90% achieved 25 points or higher; 82% achieved 26 points or higher; and 61% achieved 27 points or higher.
