Practically commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on April 20, Thanh Tri district coordinated with the Agricultural General Hospital and the Central Endocrinology Hospital to organize a health check-up program and present gifts to 322 meritorious people, veterans, former youth volunteers, and former People's Police who made many contributions to the resistance war against the US to save the country and are living in the district.

From early morning, delegates who are meritorious people, war veterans, former youth volunteers, and former People's Police officers came to Thanh Tri Culture - Information and Sports Center to wait for their turn for examination. Doctors from the Agricultural General Hospital and the Central Endocrinology Hospital performed general examinations; specialized examinations: Eyes, ears - nose - throat, teeth - jaw - face, diabetes, thyroid; arranged modern equipment and machinery, such as 4D general ultrasound machine, electrocardiogram machine... to serve the diagnosis of diseases, especially for cases of severe injuries due to the consequences of war...

According to doctors, most of the elderly have many underlying diseases, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoarthritis, and spinal degeneration. In addition, some of them have problems with the heart, eyes, ears, nose, throat, and respiratory tract. Through medical examination, doctors and nurses advise and guide treatment methods, nutrition, and exercise for each different case. Each person who comes for examination is given a gift of medicine/health-supporting foods worth 300,000 VND. Health examination and care are carried out with a dedicated, thoughtful, scientific , and effective service attitude...

Health check-ups for people with meritorious services and policy families are annual activities organized by Thanh Tri district. This activity aims to demonstrate the tradition of “Drinking water, remembering its source”, “Repaying gratitude”, and showing gratitude to heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and people with meritorious services to the revolution in the cause of fighting for national independence and protecting the Fatherland.
