At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Science and Technology of Lam Dong province approved the draft project to merge the Departments of Science and Technology of the three provinces. Delegates and specialized departments of the Departments of Science and Technology of the three provinces discussed the key contents of the project.

Mr. Vo Thanh Cong, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Binh Thuan, suggested maintaining a team of professional staff in localities.

The meeting also discussed in depth the necessary conditions for implementing the project such as: infrastructure assurance plan, digital platform, and shared management information system among the three provinces.

The Department of Science and Technology of the three provinces also calculated a reasonable plan for personnel arrangement to avoid major disruptions in professional activities after the merger.

The merger of the Departments of Science and Technology of the three provinces comes from the requirement to implement Conclusion No. 12-KL/TW dated February 28, 2022 of the Politburo and Resolution No. 60-NQ/TW dated April 12, 2022 of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to rearrange provincial-level administrative units.

According to the project, the Department of Science and Technology after the merger will have its headquarters in Lam Dong province. Technical infrastructure and professional staff will still be maintained in the localities, ensuring connectivity and flexibility in organization and operation.
