Binh Thuan Newspaper, issue 10/5/2024, has an article “Thây Thịm - the Cham shaman” by contributor Kim Huong. The author quotes the content of the article from sources, researchers around the origin of the craft of building gourd boats, documents circulating about Thầy Thịm to contribute more sources of documents about this unique folk belief.
After the newspaper was published, there were some comments comparing it with the story of Dinh Thay Thim located in Tan Tien commune, La Gi town. After checking the content of the article and receiving comments from the Management Board of Dinh Thay Thim Association, the Editorial Board realized that some of the information published based on the source of documents and the way of presenting the content was not really suitable, easily causing misunderstandings with the history of formation and development of Dinh Thay Thim.
Regarding the history of formation and development of Dinh Thay Thim, Binh Thuan Newspaper affirmed: "The historical and cultural relic Dinh Thay Thim was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information in Decision No. 2890-VH/QD dated September 29, 1997 and then the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism issued Decision No. 62/QD-BVHTTDL dated January 12, 2022 on inclusion in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Traditional Festival - Dinh Thay Thim Festival... The value of Dinh Thay Thim relic has been affirmed and the historical significance of Dinh Thay Thim has a great impact on the social community with humanity and compassion...". This is the official information that has been recognized by the authorities and the whole society.
