The Vietnamese Sports Delegation has officially secured the 11th ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics after female boxer Ha Thi Linh defeated her opponent Vilma Viitanen in the 60kg weight class in the qualifying round.
Ha Thi Linh got a ticket to France after a convincing 4-1 victory over Finnish opponent Vilma Viitanen in the Women's 60kg weight class of the Olympic qualifying round. With this achievement, Ha Thi Linh became the second Vietnamese Boxing athlete to win the right to go to the Paris Olympics. Previously, Ha Thi Linh's teammate Vo Thi Kim Anh also won a ticket to France in the Women's 54kg weight class.
Thus, 11 Vietnamese athletes have won tickets to the 2024 Olympics, including Nguyen Thuy Linh, Le Duc Phat (Badminton); Trinh Thu Vinh, Le Thi Mong Tuyen (Shooting); Nguyen Huy Hoang (Swimming); Nguyen Thi That (Cycling); Trinh Van Vinh (Weightlifting); Vo Thi Kim Anh (Boxing); Nguyen Thi Huong (Canoeing) and Pham Thi Hue (Rowing) and Ha Thi Linh (Boxing).
Currently, Judo athlete Hoang Thi Tinh is also waiting for confirmation from the World Judo Federation to participate in the women's 48kg weight class at this Olympics.
