Another 2 billion USD 'poured' into Ba Na

Approval decision based on proposal of Ministry of Finance , appraisal opinions of ministries and People's Committee of Da Nang City.

Accordingly, the official name of the project is Ba Na - Suoi Mo Urban and Eco -tourism Complex. The project's objective is to invest in the complete and synchronous construction of technical infrastructure , social infrastructure, commercial, tourism, service, accommodation, entertainment and other types of works, aiming to turn this area into a top-quality, classy entertainment, resort, living and working destination in Vietnam, meeting the diverse needs of tourists and residents.

Ba Na - Suoi Mo Urban and Eco-Tourism Complex has the world famous Golden Bridge

The total investment capital of the Ba Na - Suoi Mo Eco-tourism and Urban Area Complex project was approved by the Government to increase to nearly 52,000 billion VND - equivalent to about 2 billion USD.

The project will include commercial, tourism, service facilities, more than 7,000 hotel rooms, entertainment facilities, 2 additional cable lines, bringing the total number of cable car lines to 10, station systems, technical infrastructure, social infrastructure and other auxiliary works...

The adjustment does not change the previously approved project boundaries, but adjusts the items and functional areas to ensure suitability and efficiency in exploitation and operation to serve tourism development.

Ba Na - Suoi Mo Eco-tourism and Urban Area Complex will have more than 7,000 hotel rooms to serve guests.

During the period from 2008 to 2024, the project was implemented in phase 1 with the thorough investment of Sun Group Corporation and achieved many successes. Sun World Ba Na Hills has become an international-class amusement park complex - one of the tourism symbols of Da Nang city.

This tourist area has been awarded the title of "Asia's Leading Theme Park" by the World Travel Awards (WTA) for four consecutive years. In 2020 and 2021, WTA honored it as "World's Leading Iconic Tourist Attraction" and "World's Leading Iconic Tourist Bridge" for the Golden Bridge. According to statistics, out of every 10 international visitors to Da Nang, 7 come to experience Ba Na Hills.

However, according to experts, entering a new development period, to achieve breakthrough goals in both economy and tourism as set out in the Da Nang City Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050: to become a large, ecological, smart, unique, sustainable, international-standard urban area; an international tourism center, high-tech industry, information technology; a regional-scale international financial center and a livable coastal city of Asian class..., Da Nang needs to have new growth drivers that are strong enough and of sufficient scope.

Along with a series of other large-scale projects being studied to establish a development focus for the large city of Da Nang with much room after the merger of Quang Nam, the Ba Na area is identified as a focal point that needs to be upgraded to a level of development that goes beyond the scale of a current amusement park complex. This area needs to be shaped into an international-class urban and eco-tourism complex, commensurate with the new stature of the coastal city of Da Nang - the economic and tourism locomotive of the Central - Central Highlands region.

Adjusting and upgrading the scale and class of the Ba Na project helps create strong growth momentum for tourism - one of the three economic pillars of Da Nang city.

According to the Approval Decision, phase 2 of the Ba Na - Suoi Mo Urban and Eco-Tourism Complex project is 10 years from the date of investment policy approval.

The approval of the policy to adjust the Ba Na - Suoi Mo Eco-tourism and Urban Area Complex project demonstrates the determination of the Government, ministries and localities in socio-economic development, improving the quality of life, promoting tourism, creating a new highlight for Da Nang city in particular and the Central region in general, contributing significantly to sustainable development, bringing many practical benefits to the community, people and the country's economy in the new era./.

According to the plan, by 2030, Da Nang needs to achieve an economic growth rate of 9.5 - 10%/year and strives to reach 12%/year (in fact, Da Nang has set a double-digit economic growth target - reaching 10% in 2025). In which, the service industry structure is about 61 - 62%; the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments increases by 17.5 - 18%/year; revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel increases by 12.5 - 13%/year...
