Recently, many stone benches in Dong Tang Long urban area (Truong Thanh ward, Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh city) continued to be "victims" when being "attacked" by betting websites.
Stone benches at coffee shops, beverage shops... are "targets" that are easily "attacked".
According to records, on N18, N7, B1, B3 streets,... there are about a dozen stone benches sprayed with advertising paint, the content being the names of several gambling and football betting websites. Among them, there is a website that has been reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper before.
On the stone benches, it is easy to see large black or red letters with the content: "xxx.com, betting for fun, making billions; xxx88, burning your desire"...
Betting website appeared many times in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City
According to the people, this situation has only recently appeared. It is unacceptable that people have defaced stone benches to advertise illegal gambling, spoiling the urban beauty.
"These people took advantage of the late night to illegally paint and spray advertisements. I hope the authorities will intervene and handle the situation strictly," said Mr. Nguyen Van A. (living near the place where the paint was sprayed).
Previously, at the end of June, based on feedback from readers, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper reported on information advertising a betting website appearing on stone benches in Long Thanh My ward, Thu Duc city and in front of the temple gate in this locality.
Spray paint advertising for betting website seriously affects urban beauty
Afterwards, Long Thanh My Ward Police coordinated with functional forces to verify and find the subjects as Ly Van Qui, Nguyen Van Duoc, Bui Thai Bao (aged 20 to 24, all residing in Ca Mau province).
Before that, about 70 stone benches in the Ho Chi Minh City National University urban area were also painted and sprayed with words promoting a football betting website.
According to Lawyer Diep Nang Binh, Head of Tinh Thong Luat Law Office, using graffiti to advertise a betting website or personal hobby can be administratively punished from 1 to 100 million VND. Depending on the nature and severity of the behavior, a fine or criminal prosecution will be imposed if the nature is serious.
In addition, violators may also be subject to remedial measures such as being forced to remove, dismantle, or delete advertisements... Lawyer Binh commented that the regulations on handling acts of spray painting and graffiti are still lenient and not deterrent enough. Therefore, stronger sanctions are needed.
