Another "golden season" of Tam Ky education

Last weekend, the People's Committee of Tam Ky City held a ceremony to honor and reward outstanding students of the 2024-2025 school year. Once again, Tam Ky education had a "golden season" of achievements in excellent student competitions.

There are 281 students who won prizes at provincial and national competitions in the 2024-2025 school year and were commended and rewarded by the city; including 4 national consolation prizes, 93 provincial second prizes, 153 provincial third prizes and 31 outstanding students of schools with a total reward value of 219.6 million VND.

Of these, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted has 159 students receiving awards; Tran Cao Van High School has 15 students; Le Quy Don High School has 12 students; Duy Tan High School has 8 students; Phan Boi Chau High School has 7 students and Academy School has 2 students.

At the secondary school level, 49 students were awarded, with the most being Nguyen Du Secondary School with 21 students, Ly Tu Trong Secondary School with 7 students, Le Hong Phong Secondary School with 5 students, Huynh Thuc Khang Secondary School with 4 students, Chu Van An Secondary School with 3 students, Le Loi Secondary School with 3 students, Nguyen Hue Secondary School with 3 students, Nguyen Khuyen Secondary School with 1 student and Academy School with 2 students.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Loc - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Tam Ky City, the 2024 - 2025 school year is the last school year to implement Resolution No. 09 of the City Party Committee on developingeducation in Tam Ky City for the period 2021 - 2025, Resolution No. 90 of the City People's Council on developing education in Tam Ky City until 2025; teachers and students of the city's education sector have strived to compete in teaching well - studying well and achieved very good results.

At the provincial-level cultural subject competition for excellent students at secondary schools, Tam Ky participated in all 9 subjects as prescribed by the Department of Education and Training. The result was 87 prizes, including 7 first prizes, 21 second prizes, 26 third prizes and 32 consolation prizes, ranking second overall; in particular, the number of first and second prizes was higher than last year.

In addition, Tam Ky students also brought home many awards at intellectual playgrounds organized by all levels, notably national and provincial competitions and competitions such as National English on the Internet, winning 2 gold medals (Nguyen Van Troi and Tran Quoc Toan Primary Schools), 1 silver medal (Vo Thi Sau Primary School), Provincial STEM Teaching Product Exhibition, winning 1 first prize (Le Loi Secondary School), 2 consolation prizes.

“The results achieved in the past school year are the result of the students’ continuous efforts, the teachers’ dedication, and the parents’ support; and at the same time, they demonstrate the close attention and leadership of the Party Committee and authorities from the city to the communes and wards,” Mr. Loc shared.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Nam - Permanent Vice Chairman of Tam Ky City People's Committee said that the results that the students achieved today are not only a worthy reward for their efforts but also a clear demonstration of the development of Tam Ky education.

It is commendable that in places with difficult socio -economic conditions such as Tam Phu and Tam Thang, the quantity and quality of excellent students achieve high results.

“The city acknowledges and appreciates the innovations of the education and training sector in directing the innovation of teaching and learning in a substantial and comprehensive manner, contributing to improving the quality of education in the city. At the same time, we would like to thank the companionship of parents as an important source of motivation for children to strive to excel in their studies,” said Mr. Nam.
