Candidates burst into tears in the first exam of the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City

(Dan Tri) - Right in the first exam session of the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City, many candidates were overwhelmed with emotion because they did well on the exam.

On the morning of June 6, more than 96,000 candidates in Ho Chi Minh City began taking the 10th grade entrance exam, with the first subject being Literature.

At the exam site of Vo Truong Toan Secondary School (District 1), before entering the exam room, candidates must leave their personal belongings in an area 25m away from the exam room, and are only allowed to bring necessary and regulated items into the exam room.

In recent years, the entrance exam for grade 10 in Literature in Ho Chi Minh City has always brought a feeling of excitement and anticipation to candidates. The questions are often highly open, closely linked to reality, suitable for the psychology of students, evoking many emotions, rich in humanity and aiming at educating students on personality, ethics and lifestyle.

Some candidates appeared nervous before the exam.

Many parents returned home as soon as they dropped their children off at the school gate. However, there were still quite a few parents who lingered in front of the school gate waiting to pick up their children.

Many parents were restless and worried after their children entered the exam room. Many people waited on the sidewalk opposite the school gate waiting for their children to finish the exam. "My family has high expectations for my child, but I don't want to put pressure on him, so I encouraged and instructed him very carefully before entering the exam room. I hope he will do well on his exam," said Mr. Bui Quang Thuan (living in Go Vap district).

Right after the first exam ended, many candidates ran out to hug their parents.

"This year's Literature test is relatively easy to understand, most of it is about things I have learned at school, I am confident that I will get over 8 points", Nguyen Ngoc Minh (student of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary School) shared.

The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on June 6 and 7. After taking the Literature exam in the morning, candidates will continue with the Foreign Language exam in the afternoon of the same day. The Math exam will be on June 7. Candidates taking the exam for specialized classes will take an additional specialized subject exam.
