On the afternoon of June 25, nearly 1.17 million candidates went to the exam sites as announced to complete procedures to take the 2025 High School Graduation Exam and correct errors (if any). This is an important step to know the exam scores and exam rooms, to avoid getting lost and being late on the official exam day.

This year, Hanoi has more than 124,000 candidates taking the exam at 233 exam sites. The Department of Education and Training has mobilized nearly 17,000 officials and teachers to participate in the invigilation and grading stages of the upcoming exam.

Before the exam took place, Mr. Nghiem Van Binh, Head of the Department of Examination Management and Education Quality Assessment (Hanoi Department of Education and Training) instructed officers and teachers in detail about exam invigilation procedures, emphasizing the important differences between the two groups of candidates in this year's exam.

Leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training inspected exam preparations in Hanoi on June 20.

Specifically, for the Geography subject, candidates of the new program are not allowed to use Atlas, while candidates of the old program are still allowed to use it.

“These differences require the invigilators to have a firm grasp of the regulations and provide clear instructions to candidates, especially before the exam is distributed. The invigilators also remind candidates that upon receiving the exam, they must immediately check the exam for any errors such as blurring, fading, or tearing and report to the invigilator within 5 minutes for an exchange. After 5 minutes, candidates must take responsibility for themselves,” said Mr. Binh.

15 minutes late will not be allowed to take the exam.

In addition, candidates are only allowed to bring the following items into the exam room: pens, pencils, set squares, erasers, graphing rulers, rulers, drawing tools, calculators without word processing functions and no memory cards.

Candidates should be present at the examination site on time. In case of loss of exam admission notice, Citizen ID card or other necessary documents, it is necessary to immediately notify the supervisor or Head of the examination site for consideration and handling.

In particular, candidates should note that on exam days, if they arrive 15 minutes late after the exam start time signal, they will not be allowed to take that exam.

Representatives of Hanoi City Police also disseminated specific situations related to candidates who may be wearing disguised electronic devices such as ballpoint pens pinned to their shirts, wearing unusually large rings, etc., which could be exam cheating devices.

Security forces emphasized that exam invigilators should remind candidates to put away all phones and cheating devices before entering the exam room and closely monitor them throughout the test.

Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Department of Education and Training, emphasized that the testing site must take full responsibility for all activities at the testing site and must not be subjective or negligent at any stage.

For each exam session, the head of the test site must collect all phones and electronic devices of the test proctors and arrange an area to store personal belongings according to regulations. Each test site must prepare an area to store personal belongings for candidates away from the exam room.

As for candidates, during the exam registration process, the invigilator must strictly remind them not to bring their phones into the exam room. In case candidates accidentally bring their phones into the exam area, on the exam day, they must be reminded to take the device to the storage area to avoid being discovered and handled according to the regulations.

During the exam, it is necessary to strictly monitor the items candidates bring into the exam room to prevent negative situations from occurring.

Mr. Cuong also said that up to this point, the facilities have been carefully prepared. He continued to request units to thoroughly and comprehensively review all stages, providing the most favorable conditions for candidates and their families.
