On the occasion of April 30 and May 1 this year, stores, supermarkets and markets have prepared goods and applied many promotions for consumers. During the 2-day holiday, the number of customers increased sharply from 7-20% compared to the same period.

During the first two days of the holiday, on average, GO! Ba Ria supermarket welcomed and served about 5,000 visitors per day.

According to Ms. Huynh Kim My, Director of GO! Ba Ria Supermarket, this year, people have a long holiday on April 30 and May 1, so purchasing power is expected to increase sharply. GO! Ba Ria has prepared goods before the holiday for items with long shelf lives and worked with suppliers of fresh and processed goods to ensure the supply of goods according to the committed contract.

“This year, there is a big event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification in Ho Chi Minh City, so the supermarket has proactively sourced goods early. Therefore, goods are always guaranteed to meet customer demand. During the first 2 days of the holiday, the number of customers coming to the supermarket to shop increased, with an average of about 5,000 customers per day, and the total number of customers coming here for entertainment and shopping is about 8,000 customers per day. It is expected that during the entire holiday, the number of customers coming to GO! Ba Ria will increase by 7% compared to the same period, and revenue will increase by about 5%,” said Ms. Huynh Kim My.

Similarly, at Co.opmart Vung Tau, the supply of goods has also doubled compared to normal days, focusing on food items, vegetables, fruits, meat, etc. The supermarket also launched discount and promotion programs of up to 50%.

“During the holiday, the supermarket launched many consumer stimulus programs with discounts of 15-50%. On this occasion, the supermarket organized a festival to affirm product quality and prioritize choosing safe points of sale for shopping from April 29 to May 1. Through the program, it aims to bring shopping experiences for quality domestic goods at reasonable prices. During the first 2 days of the holiday, the supermarket welcomed an average of 3,000 visitors/day. It is expected that during the holidays, the number of visitors will double compared to normal days and increase by 20% compared to the same period last year,” said Mr. Tran Cong Hieu, Director of Co.opmart Vung Tau.

According to the general assessment of the goods suppliers, this year's holiday season, due to the long holidays and the intense heat, many families will choose to travel , relax, and shop, thereby increasing the consumption of goods. To serve the consumption needs of people and tourists, the goods suppliers in the province have prepared double the amount of goods compared to normal days, focusing on the following items: technological foods, fresh foods, etc. At the same time, 100% of the staff on duty will be increased to promptly support customers.

Especially during this year's holiday is the 2025 brand promotion event, with the participation of more than 300 domestic and foreign brands and discounts of up to 80%. The event takes place from April 30 to May 4 at the Aurora Event Center Wedding & Conference Center (Vung Tau City). It is expected that in the 5 days of the event, it will attract about 60,000 visitors with a revenue of about 12 billion VND.

SEAFOOD PRICES INCREASED

In the first two days of the holiday, in addition to supermarkets and shopping malls, at wholesale markets and central markets in districts and cities, consumer goods are also abundant, ensuring adequate supply for people and tourists during the holiday. The number of visitors and shoppers has also increased sharply, double that of normal days. At markets in Vung Tau, Ba Ria, Phuoc Hai, etc., small traders have also prepared seafood, dried goods, vegetables, fruits, etc. Prices have now started to increase by 10-25%.

Recorded at Phuoc Hai market on the morning of May 1, the seafood business area had a large number of customers coming to shop. The vendors weighed and packed goods for customers without stopping.

Ms. My Lai, a trader at Phuoc Hai market, Long Dat district, said that during this holiday, the seafood supply to the market is guaranteed to meet the needs of people and tourists. The quality of the seafood is quite fresh because it is caught in the sea of ​​Phuoc Hai, Long Hai. The prices of some items such as shrimp, crab, squid and some types of snails have also increased compared to normal days.

“During the first two days of the holiday, the number of customers increased, so I also bought more goods to both wholesale and retail to customers. Seafood prices these days also increased by 10-50 thousand VND/kg for some popular seafood such as shrimp, squid, crab, while some seafood prices decreased compared to normal days. Depending on customer demand, we will balance the goods to supply the market,” said Ms. My Lai.

State management of the trade sector has been strengthened by functional sectors, so the market on April 30 and May 1 this year will serve well the consumption needs of people and tourists.
