Closing the session on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, VN-Index stopped at 1,293.43 points, up 10.17 points (0.79%); VN30-Index increased 10.74 points (0.78%), to 1,382.78 points.
Most industry groups increased, with consumer services being the standout, followed by durable goods distribution and retail, specialty services and trade. Utilities was the only sector that performed in the opposite direction to the market.

On the electronic trading board, stocks with increasing prices dominated with 205 codes going up and 106 codes going down. In the VN30 group, the number of codes increasing and decreasing was 20 codes and 9 codes respectively.
Today, nearly 1.8 billion VPL shares of Vinpearl Joint Stock Company were officially listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange with a reference price of VND 71,300/share, corresponding to a charter capital of nearly VND 18,000 billion.
Immediately after listing, VPL shares increased to the maximum limit, up to 85,500 VND/share. By the end of the session, this code still increased to the ceiling. The selling side was empty while the buying side still had many shares waiting to be matched.
Market liquidity was high with nearly VND24,000 billion changing hands. Foreign investors traded strongly during the session. This group bought nearly VND4,161 billion and sold approximately VND3,184 billion.
In yesterday's trading session, after the news that the US and China agreed to reduce tariffs on each other's imported goods in the next 90 days, strong buying power helped the VN-Index increase by 15.96 points (+1.26%) to 1,283.26. The scale of the tax cut was assessed to be larger than expected and an important step in easing tensions.
According to Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Quynh, Director of Institutional Clients, VNDirect Securities Joint Stock Company, the current developments have a positive psychological impact on investors and there will be positive trading sessions this week.
However, investors need to monitor the results of negotiations between the US and Vietnam to make cautious investment decisions.
