After more than 30 years of pursuing painting, artist Nguyen Thanh Hai has recently collaborated with SANN - The House of Art to organize a grand solo painting exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City.

Regarding the reason for this passionate artistic "game", he said: "At first, I focused on painting still lifes, landscapes, and daily life of people in the Northern Delta. Then I switched to painting mostly young girls, young girls wearing ao dai, daily life scenes and images of bamboo trees... to make the works more vivid."

According to him, "painting portraits on lacquer is quite difficult. If you are drawing an artistic portrait, you just need to capture the expression and express it. But if you are drawing realistically, you need to meticulously draw every stroke to resemble the model."

Painter Nguyen Thanh Hai was born in 1968 in Bac Ninh province. The Spring Lacquer Painting Exhibition organized by artist Nguyen Thanh Hai in collaboration with SANN - The House of Art, at the Ho Chi Minh City Exhibition Hall (92 Le Thanh Ton, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), will take place until the end of February 2025.
