With his skilled hands, keen eyes and high sense of responsibility, Major Luu Quang Tuong has made an important contribution to preserving, maintaining and reviving hundreds of artillery pieces, machine guns and technical equipment - the "steel hearts" of the armed forces. Not only is he a good technical officer, he is also an exemplary party member, persistent, creative, always overcoming all difficulties to excellently complete assigned tasks.

As an artillery repairman at the Weapons Workshop, Major Luu Quang Tuong's main task is to maintain and restore technical weapons and equipment, a job that requires almost absolute precision and a strong sense of discipline. For him, each technical operation is not simply a mechanical repair, but a part of the combat strength, safety and trust of the unit. Therefore, in any task, he always strictly adheres to the technological process, fully performs each step according to regulations, and absolutely does not allow any shortcuts or sloppy work. Meticulous and careful to every detail, each of his repaired products meets high technical requirements, contributing to improving the quality, reliability and longevity of weapons.

Sharing about his working principles, Major Luu Quang Tuong confided: “I always keep in mind that as a soldier, each cannon and each piece of equipment is associated with the combat strength and survival of the unit. Whatever we do, we must be sure of it. To do so, we must not only follow the correct procedures but also constantly learn from our teammates and from actual failures, to gain experience and find the most optimal and effective way to do things.”

A highlight in the process of carrying out the mission of Major Luu Quang Tuong is the spirit of shock, ready to move with the Repair Team to the units stationed on the border line, the Northeast island line. The long-term missions at Brigade 242 left him with many unforgettable impressions; the trips often started at dawn, with heavy, cumbersome repair kits; the main means of transport were field vehicles, boats, sometimes having to walk up hills and mountains for many hours to reach the unit needing to repair weapons. “Every time going to an island or to the border is a new challenge. In some places, when arriving, the weapons are severely damaged, lacking replacement equipment, and limited protection conditions. But I cannot falter, I have to fix them on the spot, find every way to restore the combat features of the weapons. Because this is not just a job, but a combat mission in peacetime” - Major Luu Quang Tuong shared.

At the units stationed on the Northeast island line or the border lines, in addition to repairing and maintaining artillery and technical equipment, he also took the opportunity to instruct soldiers on the skills of using, checking, and performing simple maintenance to improve the on-site technical initiative of the base units. Captain Hoang Duc Thai, Director of the Weapons Workshop, said: “Whenever he was mobilized to the islands or to the border, Comrade Tuong always volunteered to go first, not afraid of hardship or difficulty. There were times when it rained heavily, the equipment was all wet, the weapons were rusty, but he still persevered in handling and restoring each gun. The comrades in the team always called Comrade Tuong the one who "kept the soul" of the weapons.”

The spirit of constant creativity is one of the highlights that makes the mark of Major Luu Quang Tuong in the unit. Not only is he devoted to his daily repair work, he is also passionate about research and innovation to improve work efficiency. From practical work, he has created many technical solutions with high application value such as: "Artillery shell removal device", helping to remove and remove safely and quickly; or "Device to straighten flattened ammunition boxes for AK submachine guns", contributing to prolonging the life of equipment and ensuring the stable combat capability of the troops. Major Luu Quang Tuong's initiatives not only help save time and reduce labor but also significantly improve the safety and quality of technical repairs. Many devices designed by him have been widely deployed in the Workshop and in the unit's technical mobile teams, becoming effective assistants on the silent front of the soldier-workers.

For many years, he has been a solid professional support for his teammates at the Workshop. His initiatives not only have technical value but also spread the spirit of innovation and creativity throughout the unit.”

It was in the midst of hardship that the mettle and qualities of a party member in Major Luu Quang Tuong were clearly demonstrated: Persistent, creative and dedicated to the task of ensuring technical support for units in the Military Region 3. His tireless efforts have been recognized with many noble emulation titles: 5 consecutive years (2020-2024) as a "Grassroots-level Emulation Fighter", 5 consecutive years as a party member who has excellently completed his tasks; in 2025, he was proposed to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of National Defense .
