On November 26, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Sippo Program (Switzerland) to organize the Export Promotion Forum. At the Forum, Dr. Vo Tri Thanh - Director of the Institute for Brand Strategy and Competitiveness Research, commented that in the past 15 years, studies have always required market diversification in exports, but in reality, Vietnam's commodity exports are increasingly concentrated in the two largest markets in the world, accounting for 45% of Vietnam's total trade, which are the US and China markets.
Mr. Thanh affirmed that there will be more foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises coming to Vietnam, but how to make the most of these FDI when the world context is constantly changing with new standards, new barriers; high conversion costs, unprecedented shifts in supply chains. Especially in the situation where the localization rate has not yet reached the target and the value created by Vietnamese enterprises in the localization rate of products manufactured in Vietnam is very low, so the problem is to promote the role of enterprises in the global value chain.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Ha - Director of AHT Tech Joint Stock Company said that Vietnam is currently one of the top software exporting countries with a value of more than 10 billion USD/year. However, recently the AI revolution has had a big impact on software export - an industry mainly related to people. According to Mr. Ha, in the past, AHT Tech often worked on orders, but the appearance of AI can replace the position of programmers, so companies are forced to make more in-depth changes, using AI to optimize for businesses. And the main story is to be able to directly approach large businesses in the world to "show" (express) their strengths.
“The ecosystem is the most important issue for every enterprise to be able to go global, enter the global value chain, and reach customers. To build an ecosystem, enterprises need to boldly connect with companies that have gone global,” said Mr. Ha.
Mr. Bok Dug Gyou - Head of Korea Desk at the Trade Promotion Agency, Deputy Director of KOTRA Vietnam (Korea Trade Promotion Agency in Vietnam) shared that Korea always strives to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) - those who lack the capacity to search for market information and do not have relationships to contact potential partners. Accordingly, KOTRA will find ways for businesses to reach the market's desires, encourage businesses that have done well to do better at the national level, meet more competitors or look for businesses that meet global standards to learn from.
According to Mr. Bok Dug Gyou, the current development of the Korean economy is based on the technological development of industries, thereby meeting higher global standards and having more trade partners. Mr. Bok Dug Gyou also noted that Vietnam's potential is huge.
“Now is a good time for Vietnamese enterprises to reach out to the world,” said Mr. Bok Dug Gyou. And he suggested that, to help enterprises go Global, the State needs to have appropriate support, provide information to SMEs so that they can plan, find the most suitable niche market for enterprises to go in the right direction, saving time.
Mr. Tran Huy Hoan, Chief Specialist, Department of Planning, Finance and Enterprise Management (Ministry of Industry and Trade) affirmed that Vietnam's "Go Global" plan is not only about exporting but also focuses on increasing the added value of domestic production; investing abroad. In which, 3 specific groups of tasks are implemented for enterprises, including improving capacity and awareness; Providing information for enterprises; Piloting to open the way for enterprises to go global, supporting enterprises to participate in the global chain...
However, according to Mr. Hoan, enterprises need to change their thinking, in that they need to determine their vision of the global market, which means not only using domestic resources but also using global human resources, making good use of enterprises coming to Vietnam to be able to participate in their production chain or looking for markets that can provide better raw materials to set up factories.
