Within the framework of the official visit to the Russian Federation, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly, Russian Federation Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin co-chaired the Third Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly, Russian Federation.

At the end of the session, the National Assembly of Vietnam and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation issued a Joint Communique.

On September 8-10, 2024, at the invitation of Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man paid an official visit to the Russian Federation.

The visit took place in the context of the two countries celebrating the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the fundamental principles of friendly relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Russian Federation (1994-2024, hereinafter referred to as the Treaty) and the bilateral relations have achieved many important achievements in various fields.

To implement the agreements reached in the Joint Statement between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Russian Federation on deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership on the basis of 30 years of implementing the Treaty, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly, Russian Federation VVVolodin held the Third Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Commission between the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly, Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as the two sides).

The two sides affirmed their readiness to cooperate in legislative work to ensure effective implementation of agreements between the two countries and their leaders to promote the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The two sides discussed and assessed the results achieved since the Second Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Commission between the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Delegates from both sides exchanged opinions and experiences in legislative activities to promote bilateral cooperation, in line with the changing situation in the fields of economics-trade, investment, finance-banking, energy, science and technology, education and training, construction, healthcare, humanitarian exchanges and tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

The two sides affirmed the need to expand inter-parliamentary relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, agreed to strengthen close coordination of actions, both bilaterally and at regional and international forums, coordinate to monitor and promote the effective implementation of the Joint Statements reached and signed cooperation documents, promote joint efforts to respond to global challenges and implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation VV Volodin acknowledged the results of cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in recent times and highly appreciated the practical and effective content of the Third Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man respectfully invited Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation VV Volodin to visit the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and co-chair the 4th Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Commission between the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, chaired by the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
