Agree to propose recognizing 9 communes meeting new rural standards, advanced new rural standards and model new rural standards in the second phase of 2024

During this period, the Council considered recognizing An Quang commune (An Lao district) as meeting the new rural standards; recognizing 7 communes as meeting the advanced new rural standards: Binh Nghi (Tay Son district), Cat Nhon (Phu Cat district), Nhon Chau (Quy Nhon city), Hoai Chau and Hoai My (Hoai Nhon town), Nhon Hanh and Nhon My (An Nhon town); recognizing Nhon Hai commune (Quy Nhon city) as meeting the model new rural standards.

Ms. Nguyen Thi The Vy - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Chief of the Office of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction Coordination in the province reported on the results of building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas of localities.

At the meeting, the Council members assessed that the localities had made great efforts and basically completed the prescribed criteria. In particular, An Quang commune achieved 19/19 criteria according to the set of criteria for new rural communes in the period of 2021-2025, reaching a rate of 100%. The communes: Binh Nghi, Cat Nhon, Nhon Hanh, Hoai My achieved 19/19 criteria according to the set of criteria for advanced new rural communes in the period of 2021-2025, reaching a rate of 100%. The remaining communes achieved 17-18 criteria, while criteria such as schools, clean water, environment, and living environment quality need to continue to be overcome and improved to ensure meeting the prescribed standards. Meanwhile, Nhon Hai commune achieved 4/4 criteria for a model new rural commune in Culture - Tourism, reaching a rate of 100%.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh spoke at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh emphasized the important significance of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in improving the material and spiritual life of rural people; building synchronous and gradually modern rural socio-economic infrastructure, ensuring a bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe rural environment and landscape, rich in traditional cultural identity, adapting to climate change and sustainable development.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh acknowledged the efforts of the localities; at the same time, he requested the localities to commit and develop specific plans to overcome the shortcomings and improve the quality of the new rural criteria in the coming time. Nhon My commune needs to strengthen propaganda to raise people's awareness of classifying and treating plastic waste, assigning tasks to departments, branches, commune organizations, and villages to mobilize people to participate in the implementation. Hoai Nhon town People's Committee directed and urged the Central Water Supply and Drainage Company to urgently complete the opening of the pipeline network and put it into use to supply clean water to people in Hoai Chau commune, meeting the rate of households using water according to the criteria. Quy Nhon city People's Committee directed the Nhon Chau commune People's Committee to urgently implement the overcoming of shortcomings related to school and environmental criteria.

After discussion, the members of the Provincial Appraisal Council conducted an evaluation vote. As a result, the Council members unanimously recognized An Quang commune as meeting the NTM standards; recognized 07 communes: Binh Nghi, Cat Nhon, Nhon Chau, Hoai Chau, Hoai My, Nhon Hanh, Nhon My as meeting the advanced NTM standards; recognized Nhon Hai commune as meeting the model NTM standards in 2024.

This is the last meeting of the Provincial Appraisal Council to consider and propose recognition of communes meeting NTM standards, communes meeting advanced NTM standards, and communes meeting model NTM standards in Binh Dinh province, period 2021-2025.
