On the morning of November 19, Mr. Do Van My, Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Kim Ngan Commune, Quang Tri Province, confirmed the above information.

According to Mr. My, on November 17, when Ms. D.THH, Vice Principal, returned to school after being temporarily suspended from work, many parents reacted and came to pick up their children.

"After returning, Ms. H. also had health-related problems and is currently not at school. According to the information I have, Ms. H. went to the hospital for a check-up. As for the parents, after being persuaded by the school and local authorities, they brought their children back to class," Mr. My informed.

Regarding the case of 40 students hospitalized due to food poisoning symptoms that occurred at school, Mr. My said he is still waiting for conclusions from the authorities.

As Principal, Mr. My affirmed that he is ready to take responsibility for the poisoning incident as well as the handling method given by his superiors, only hoping to soon stabilize the students' learning situation.

Regarding the administrative violations pointed out in connection with the poisoning incident, Mr. My said that the fact that he and two kitchen staff did not have a certificate of training in food safety knowledge, according to regulations, was correct but not suitable for practice.

Mr. My said that as the Principal and general manager of the school, the task of managing the boarding kitchen was assigned to the Vice Principal of the school and this person had been trained.

Regarding kitchen staff, Mr. My explained that it is very difficult for schools in mountainous areas to hire people, and the regime for these cases is only at the support level, and it is difficult to require full procedures according to regulations.

Mr. Ho Song, a parent of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School, said that many parents, although they have sent their children back to class, still maintain the opinion that if Ms. H. comes to school, they will pick up their children.

The Kim Ngan Commune authorities are discussing and exchanging with the school as well as related individuals and organizations to find a way to handle the above incident. The viewpoint of the commune leaders is to put the stability of students' studies first.

As Dan Tri reported, at around 8am on September 26, many students at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School showed symptoms of nausea and stomachache. Of these, 40 students had to be hospitalized for treatment.

As a result of testing food samples and specimens, authorities discovered a strain of Bacillus cereus bacteria that produces the toxin Non-haemolytic enterotoxin, which was identified as one of the causes of poisoning.

After the poisoning incident, many parents were no longer confident about eating and living at school, lost faith in the school board, especially Ms. D.THH, so they let their children stay home.

Faced with public outrage, especially from parents, Kim Ngan commune authorities decided to temporarily suspend Ms. H. from work. The parents later brought their child back to class.

During the suspension, Ms. H. suddenly appeared at school, causing the parents to be upset and take their children home. Only when Ms. H. left did they allow their children to continue going to class.

Kim Ngan Commune authorities also intervened and determined that Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School had processed and supplied food (braised pomfret) that did not meet technical standards and food safety regulations.

In addition, Mr. Do Van My and two employees hired to cook directly at the school did not have certificates of training in food safety knowledge.
