On the evening of September 26, Mr. Tran Xuan Tien - Chief of Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Quang Binh province - said that as of 3:30 p.m. the same day, the whole province recorded 17 isolated and divided villages due to the impact of the tropical depression.
Many villages were isolated and divided due to floods.
In Minh Hoa district alone, 14 villages and hamlets were divided, including: Ka Ai, Ka Dinh, Ka Oc, Ha Nong (Dan Hoa commune); Pa Chong, Ra Mai, Cha Cap, Lom, Do Ta Vong (Trong Hoa commune); Rong village, Tien Hoa village (Hong Hoa commune); village 4 and village 5 (Tan Hoa commune); Kim Bang village (Minh Hoa commune).
In Tuyen Hoa district, 3 villages and hamlets, including: Ha village ( Thanh Hoa commune); Chuoi village (Lam Hoa commune); Dong Lam village (Duc Hoa commune) were partially divided.
Notably, the People's Committee of Minh Hoa district also discovered 2 landslide-prone areas in the danger zone, so they mobilized and relocated 4 households/16 people in La Trong 1 and La Trong 2 villages (Trong Hoa commune) to live with relatives around the village.
Ho Chi Minh Road West branch through Truong Son commune (Quang Ninh) had a landslide on the mountain, causing traffic jam.
In addition, heavy rain caused landslides on the western branch of Ho Chi Minh Highway through Truong Son Commune, Quang Ninh District, causing traffic jams. Many points on National Highway 15, National Highway 9B, and Provincial Road 562 were flooded and had landslides.
Currently, the water level of reservoirs in Quang Binh province has reached more than 38% of the design capacity, while reservoirs in Minh Hoa district have reached over 90% of the design capacity.
According to the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard Command, up to now, this unit has called on 6,551 local fishing boats and ships fishing at sea to anchor and take shelter safely. There are currently 32 vehicles/224 workers operating at sea, these boats have grasped the weather situation and proactively avoided and took shelter to ensure safety.
Quang Binh has had 1 death due to flood
At noon on September 26, Ng. AT (born in 2009; in Ba Tam village, Thuan Hoa commune, Tuyen Hoa district) and 3 other children went to the flooded area, in front of Ba Tam Kindergarten (about 100m from Gianh river bank) to cast a net to catch fish. While casting the net, Ng. AT slipped into deep water and died later.
