In his Testament, President Ho Chi Minh advised: “Cultivating the next generation of revolutionaries is a very important and necessary task”. Toeducate the tradition for students, they need to have a deep understanding of the nation’s history, see the traditional values, and be aware of the nation’s origins. Taking to heart Uncle Ho’s teachings, in recent years, along with improving the quality of cultural education, the education of revolutionary traditions for students has also been given special attention by the provincial Department of Education and Training. Accordingly, schools in the area integrate revolutionary tradition education into history and civic education subjects, and also implement them in many rich, diverse and creative forms such as organizing students to participate in competitions, contests, and performances. At the same time, on the occasions of celebrating major holidays of the province and the country, schools organize delegations to visit local revolutionary families and martyrs' cemeteries to pay tribute to the contributions of heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers and to arouse the spirit of solidarity, national pride, and love for the homeland and country in generations of students.
Nguyen Ngoc Bao Han, Class 7A1, Le Van Tam Secondary School (Ha Long City) shared: In class, our teachers have taught us lessons that integrate revolutionary tradition education. Especially on each national anniversary, the school organizes competitions such as drawing pictures of Uncle Ho, soldiers, taking us to visit red addresses..., from which we understand the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations. Through that, we will try harder in our studies to be worthy of the great contributions of those who sacrificed for national independence.
Along with the education sector, the task of participating in historical tradition education has been carried out by all levels of the association and members of the provincial War Veterans Association in many forms in recent times. These include meetings, exchanges, and extracurricular activities held in schools and at conferences held on major national holidays. In addition, historical tradition education can also take place very simply, such as intimate conversations between generations within each family... From the sharing of the War Veterans, the younger generation not only receives data information about numbers and events, but also has perspectives and real experiences from the youth of the soldiers who faced life-and-death bombs... Pride in tradition, respect for history, and love for the homeland are multiplied in the younger generation.
Together with the sectors and levels of Quang Ninh youth, educating revolutionary traditions, enhancing patriotism and national pride for the young generation is a regular and continuous task, contributing to fostering revolutionary ideals, arousing love for the homeland and country, self-awareness and responsibility of the youth towards themselves and society. In the past 5 years, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province have organized more than 3,000 activities to return to the source at red addresses, 582 programs of talks and meetings to review traditions were held, with 62,470 participants. The whole province admitted nearly 80,000 new members, many recognition ceremonies took place at historical sites, creating a profound educational mark. Movements such as "My house hangs Uncle Ho's picture" with 90% of team members and children participating, "Uncle Ho's Bookcase", "Youth Diary following Uncle Ho's words", "One good deed a day" were strongly implemented. The contests “We tell stories about Uncle Ho”, “Propaganda of revolutionary songs” and the contest to learn about Uncle Ho attracted a large number of young people. In particular, the Provincial Youth Union has introduced the digital transformation application “Quang Ninh Province Red Address Map” to educate the young generation about revolutionary ideals, while also serving the province’s tourism development goals.
President Ho Chi Minh once said: The fate of a nation, whether it is prosperous or declining, weak or strong, depends largely on the youth. Therefore, the propaganda and education of patriotic traditions and revolutionary spirit for teenagers, union members and young people - the future owners of the country - will contribute to nurturing ideals and revolutionary heroism so that today's young generation can constantly cultivate and practice moral qualities and lifestyles, contributing to building the homeland and defending the Fatherland.
