On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), Vietnam News Agency reporters in China interviewed Vietnamese students studying and living in Taiwan (China), and listened to them share their feelings and thoughts about the Father of the Vietnamese nation.
Nguyen Thi Huong - Head of Student Support Committee of Vietnamese Student Association in Taiwan, President of Formosa University (NFU) Student Association shared that Uncle Ho's ideals have inspired generations of Vietnamese people, especially the young generation, including herself.
The moment she was able to immerse herself in the country's holidays, especially the recent parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, Huong realized that Uncle Ho's dream of a "more decent and beautiful" country is not a distant dream, but a great mission that every Vietnamese, especially the young generation, needs to commit to, learn from and contribute to.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, Vietnamese students at many universities across Taiwan demonstrated their own patriotism by studying hard, organizing memorials, choirs, historical activities, and sharing national pride with international friends.
During her time studying in Taiwan, Huong clearly felt that Uncle Ho not only lives forever in the hearts of Vietnamese people, but is also an image that leaves a deep impression and respect from international friends.
Many Taiwanese lecturers and students have admired Uncle Ho for his intelligence, morality and timeless humanistic vision.
As for Huong, in every class, every research project, she always tells herself: The path with light I am on today is thanks to Uncle Ho, thanks to the sacrifices of many previous generations.
Therefore, you are more aware of your responsibility - not only to study well, but also to contribute, to continue the noble ideals that He left behind.
As the President of the Vietnamese Student Association at Formosa University and a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Student Association in Taiwan, Nguyen Thi Huong is well aware of the student organization's responsibility in nurturing and spreading the national spirit to the younger generation.
Therefore, you have organized many activities both online and in person to have the opportunity to connect with each other.
With the role of connecting and developing according to Uncle Ho's ideals, each year the Student Association has called for hundreds of scholarships to support students, thousands of job opportunities are introduced to students...
Besides, you always actively carry out campaigns to promote Vietnamese culture in English and Chinese, creating a strong bridge between Vietnam and the world .
These are small but practical steps, contributing to building a Vietnam that is not only beautiful in form, but also has cultural and intellectual depth.
Continuing Uncle Ho's dream, for Huong, it is daring to live with ideals, responsibility and dedication. She believes that if the young generation of Vietnam can combine national strength - the spirit of solidarity, self-reliance - with the strength of the times - knowledge, technology, and creativity - Vietnam will not only transform, but will transform sustainably, becoming a Vietnam worthy of Uncle Ho's great dreams.

Head of the Student Support Committee of the Vietnamese Student Association in Taiwan and President of the Student Association of Formosa University (NFU) shared that President Ho Chi Minh is not just a name engraved in history books, but a living symbol of the desire for independence, of ardent patriotism and of undying faith in future generations.
Even though he has passed away, he would certainly be very happy to see generations of Vietnamese youth continuing his dream - a dream that not only takes the form of fields and villages, but also flies far into the sky of technology, on spaceships, on every line of code and digital creativity.
These days, when Vietnamese people, no matter where they live, are all looking towards the 135th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday, Nguyen Thi Huong feels extremely grateful not only for what Uncle Ho has done, but also because his light is still guiding the younger generation to move forward - with their minds, hearts and faith in a Vietnam that is firmly stepping into the new era.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Minh Trang, who is studying for an international master's degree in agricultural economics at National Taiwan University (NTU), shared that in Taiwan, although each person has different circumstances, everyone always looks towards their homeland and always considers Uncle Ho as a spiritual symbol - the one who shows the way and connects people living far away from home.
Trang believes that no matter where they are, every young person can contribute a small part to building the country, to be worthy of the dreams and beliefs that Uncle Ho entrusted to the young generation.
Trang shared that Uncle Ho's dream of a "more decent and beautiful" Vietnam is something that every young person can contribute to realizing, starting with the smallest things.
First of all, it is about being responsible for yourself and the way you treat others. Next is the spirit of learning and progress.
Uncle Ho once traveled all over the world to find a way to save the country. Today, young people can travel far and wide, but they still need to return to the question: "What can I do to make my country better?"
When thinking about what their ancestors went through, remembering Uncle Ho's dream, students in Taiwan and even Nguyen Thi Minh Trang herself feel that they need to try harder, live better, work more usefully, so as not to let down the previous generation, so that Uncle Ho's dream is no longer a distant dream, but will be a journey that the whole nation together continues to write - with the actions, beliefs and hearts of today's generation./.
