To commemorate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), reporters from the Vietnam News Agency in China interviewed Vietnamese students studying and living in Taiwan (China), listening to them share their feelings and thoughts about the beloved Father of the Vietnamese nation.

Nguyen Thi Huong, Head of Student Support Committee of the Vietnamese Student Association in Taiwan and President of the Formosa University (NFU) Student Association, shared that President Ho Chi Minh's ideals have inspired generations of Vietnamese people, especially the younger generation, including herself.

During the moments of immersing herself in national holidays, especially the parade commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, Huong realized that Uncle Ho's dream of a "more decent and beautiful" country was not a distant dream, but a great mission that every Vietnamese person, especially the younger generation, needs to commit to, learn from, and contribute to.

During the recent 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, Vietnamese students at many universities across Taiwan demonstrated their patriotism in their own unique ways, such as striving in their studies, organizing commemorative events, choral performances, historical-themed activities, and sharing their national pride with international friends.

During her time studying in Taiwan, Huong clearly felt that Uncle Ho not only lives on in the hearts of the Vietnamese people, but also remains a deeply impressive figure and inspires respect from international friends.

Many Taiwanese lecturers and students have expressed their admiration for President Ho Chi Minh's intellect, morality, and timeless, humanistic vision.

For Huong, in every class and every research project, she always reminds herself: The path and the light I am walking today are thanks to President Ho Chi Minh and the sacrifices of countless generations before me.

Therefore, you should become even more aware of your responsibility - not only to study to excel, but also to contribute and continue the noble ideals that He left behind.

As the President of the Vietnamese Student Association at Formosa University and a member of the Executive Board of the Vietnamese Student Association in Taiwan, Nguyen Thi Huong is well aware of the responsibility of the student organization in nurturing and spreading national spirit to the younger generation.

That's why you've organized many activities, both online and in person, to create opportunities for bonding.

In its role of connecting and developing in accordance with President Ho Chi Minh's ideals, the Student Union has each year successfully secured hundreds of scholarships to support students and introduced thousands of job opportunities to them...

In addition, you have always been actively implementing campaigns to promote Vietnamese culture in English and Chinese, creating a strong bridge between Vietnam and the world .

These are small but practical steps that contribute to building a Vietnam that is not only beautiful in appearance but also possesses cultural and intellectual depth.

Continuing Uncle Ho's dream, for Huong, it means daring to live with ideals, responsibility, and dedication. She believes that if the young generation of Vietnam can combine national strength – the spirit of unity, self-reliance, and self-improvement – with the strength of the times – knowledge, technology, and creativity – Vietnam will not only transform, but will sustainably transform, becoming a Vietnam worthy of Uncle Ho's great dreams.

The Head of Student Support for the Vietnamese Student Association in Taiwan, and President of the Formosa University (NFU) Student Association, further shared that President Ho Chi Minh is not just a name deeply etched in history books, but a living symbol of the aspiration for independence, of fervent patriotism, and of undying faith in future generations.

Although he is gone, he would surely be delighted to see generations of Vietnamese youth continuing his dream – a dream that not only takes the form of rice fields and villages, but also soars high into the skies of technology, on spacecraft, in every line of code and digital creation.

These days, as Vietnamese people, no matter where they live, are all commemorating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, Nguyen Thi Huong feels immensely grateful not only for what he did, but also because his light continues to guide the younger generation – with their minds, hearts, and faith in a Vietnam that is steadily progressing in the new era.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Minh Trang, a student pursuing an international Master's program in Agricultural Economics at National Taiwan University (NTU), shared that in Taiwan, despite their different circumstances, everyone's hearts are always turned towards their homeland and they always regard Uncle Ho as a spiritual symbol – a guide and connector for those living far from home.

Trang believes that no matter where they are, every young person can contribute a small part to building the country, to live up to the dreams and trust that President Ho Chi Minh entrusted to the younger generation.

Trang shared that President Ho Chi Minh's dream of a "more decent and beautiful" Vietnam is something every young person can contribute to, starting with the smallest things.

First and foremost, it's about living responsibly, both for yourself and in your interactions with others. Secondly, it's about having a spirit of learning and self-improvement.

Uncle Ho traveled across the globe to find a way to save the country. Today, young people can also travel far and wide, but they still need to return to the question: "What can I do to make my country better?"

Thinking about what their ancestors went through, remembering Uncle Ho's dream, the students in Taiwan, and even Nguyen Thi Minh Trang herself, feel the need to strive harder, live better, and do more useful work, so as not to disappoint the previous generation, so that Uncle Ho's dream is no longer a distant dream, but a journey that the whole nation will continue to write together - through the actions, beliefs, and hearts of today's generation.
