Road connecting National Highway 1 with Ninh Thuan coastal road opens to traffic

The more than 13km long route connecting National Highway 1 with the coastal road is open to traffic, shortening the travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to tourist attractions in Ninh Thuan.

On November 7, information from the Ninh Thuan Province Traffic Project Management Board said that the Van Lam - Son Hai route has been completed, vehicles can travel from National Highway 1 to the coastal axis, Mui Dinh - Ca Na section.

Mr. Pham Minh Tan, Director of the Ninh Thuan Province Traffic Project Management Board (project investor) said that by early November, the entire route connecting National Highway 1 (QL1) to the coastal road had been completed with asphalt and was ready for traffic.

"Package No. 25, more than 1km long, connecting to National Highway 1, has been completely paved, allowing vehicles to circulate smoothly.

The contractor is completing sub-items such as drainage ditches and road markings to accept the project and put it into operation," said Mr. Tan.

The Van Lam - Son Hai road project connecting National Highway 1 (QL1) with the coastal road section Phu Tho - Mui Dinh has its starting point intersecting with QL1 at Km 1570+270.

The end point intersects with the coastal road at Son Hai crossroads (Phuoc Dinh commune, Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan).

The project has a total length of more than 13km, with a total investment of more than 372 billion VND, passing through two communes of Phuoc Nam and Phuoc Dinh.

By the end of 2023, most of the packages will have been completed. In particular, package 25 connecting to National Highway 1 through a residential area is progressing slowly due to the locality's slow handover of the site.

The open route shortens the journey from National Highway 1 to the coastal axis of Ninh Thuan.

According to the Commander of Package 25, the package will officially hand over the site by June 2024. The province has extended the completion time to the third quarter of 2024. To complete the project, the contractor is working overtime and the construction team is working continuously to open the route soon.

Van Lam - Son Hai Road is more than 13km long. Once put into operation, it will be a driving force to promote the transportation of goods connecting with National Highway 1, the North-South railway and the North-South expressway, forming an inter-regional traffic network and opening up a new development direction for the southern economic region of Ninh Thuan province.
