Deputy Minister of Construction inspects the progress of the National Highway 46 renovation and expansion project in Nghe An

On the afternoon of April 20, a working delegation of the Ministry of Construction led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van inspected the construction progress of the National Highway 46 renovation and expansion project in Nghe An.

Welcoming and working with the delegation of the Ministry of Construction were Mr. Hoang Phu Hien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the leaders of the departments, branches and sectors: Construction; Agriculture and Environment; Finance; Project Management Board 85; representatives of the leaders of Nam Dan district and the project contractors.

At the construction site of the renovation and expansion of National Highway 46 through Nam Giang commune, Nam Dan district, leaders of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments and branches as well as construction contractors reported on the implementation status, construction progress and expected plan for the coming time to complete the proposed project goals.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Son - Chairman of Nam Dan District People's Committee has summarized the situation of propaganda and mobilization of people to clear the land to hand over to the project; difficulties and obstacles need support and removal from relevant levels and sectors.

Currently, the site clearance work for the National Highway 46 renovation and expansion project has only been handed over to the contractor for construction of nearly 5/10km. The obstacles affecting the site clearance progress need to be resolved, including issues related to the relocation of water pipes and power lines within the construction area. The issue of determining types of residential land, garden land and compensation price framework for households with land within the site clearance area of ​​the project.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Phu Hien also reported to the working delegation on the instructions and plans to support localities and project construction units. The Provincial People's Committee plans to work with localities, agencies, and relevant departments in April 2025 to agree on solutions to remove obstacles, first of all issues related to water pipes and electricity lines; then the compensation price framework after determining land types.
At the construction site, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van discussed with local leaders, contractors, and relevant departments about the situation and progress of the National Highway 46 renovation and expansion project and asked the locality to find solutions to remove obstacles.

Comrade Nguyen Tuong Van also noted that the project has only been in operation for more than a month, and the local authorities and contractors have tried their best to implement and promote the handover of the site to the construction site. Any related problems must be resolved thoroughly and in accordance with regulations. After the inspection, the delegation will also have documents and reports to support the project to be constructed on schedule.

The project to renovate and expand National Highway 46, Vinh - Nam Dan section, has a total length of more than 10km; with a total estimated investment of 500 billion VND, using the medium-term capital of the Central Government. The starting point is at Km 21+642.44 (near M1 pier of Muou bridge, in Nam Giang commune), the end point is at Km 32+334.53 (near M2 pier of Thien Duong bridge, in Nam Dan town, Nam Dan district). The project is invested in the scale of a grade III plain road with 4 lanes, roadbed width of 21.5m, design speed of 80km/h.

The project was assigned by the Ministry of Construction to Project Management Board 85 as the investor representative. The winning contractor was Hoa Hiep Limited Liability Company, and the supervising consultant was Consulting Joint Stock Company 6.
