Prime Minister asks PowerChina to implement railway projects in Vietnam

Congratulating and appreciating the technological and business achievements of PowerChina Group globally as well as its activities in Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam and China are two friendly neighboring countries, comprehensive strategic cooperative partners, and are building a "Community of Shared Future", which is a favorable environment, a good foundation and an opportunity for businesses of the two countries to strengthen substantive and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that PowerChina Group will strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese partners in the fields of clean energy, strategic infrastructure, especially standard gauge railways and urban railways, including the Hai Phong - Hanoi - Lao Cai railway to connect with Kunming - Chongqing and to European countries.

PowerChina Group's Asia-Pacific Chairman Chau Gia Nghia said that PowerChina currently operates in more than 130 countries, in five main areas: Water conservancy-hydropower, electric power, urban infrastructure, mining and digitalization. Powerchina has been present in Vietnam since the 2000s, participating in the construction of more than 100 energy projects, infrastructure projects, seaports...

With experience in participating in and constructing a total length of more than 2,000 km of railway, PowerChina wishes to cooperate with 4 Vietnamese enterprises to participate in implementing railway projects in Vietnam, first of all the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway, with a commitment to ensure progress, quality and effective cost control for the project, as well as sharing technical and management experience with Vietnamese partners.

On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Rabbi Yoav Ben Tzur, Minister of Labor of Israel, who is visiting and working in Vietnam. The Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam always attaches importance to the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Israel, one of Vietnam's important partners in the Middle East.

Through the Minister, the Prime Minister sent his regards to the Israeli Prime Minister and suggested that the two sides continue to promote high-level and all-level visits. The Prime Minister proposed to soon complete negotiations and sign the Labor Agreement between Israel and Vietnam no later than June 2025, agree on ways to effectively implement the Agreement; cooperate in training workers in terms of qualifications, vocational skills, foreign languages, culture, and law; promote and implement bilateral cooperation programs in the field of labor and employment, including new areas such as software design.

For his part, Minister Yoav Ben Tzur said that this visit aims to consolidate and further develop the existing cooperative relationship between the Israeli Ministry of Labor and the Vietnamese Ministry of Interior, as well as between the two countries, especially in the field of labor cooperation. Israel is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in all fields, including high technology, software, and energy, the Minister emphasized and conveyed the greetings and regards of the Israeli Prime Minister to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

The Minister said that Israel is lacking many workers; right now, it needs about 60,000 workers in the construction sector and about 200,000 workers in other sectors. Israel wants, is ready and will create conditions to welcome more highly skilled workers from Vietnam.

Agreeing with the Prime Minister's opinion on speeding up the negotiation and signing of the Labor Agreement between the two countries, the Minister said that while waiting for the negotiation and signing, businesses from both sides can cooperate directly to send workers to Israel to work.
