Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attends the incense offering ceremony on Hung Kings' death anniversary

The incense offering ceremony was organized by the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Tho province on behalf of compatriots, soldiers nationwide and overseas Vietnamese.

Also attending the ceremony were Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man; Politburo member, Minister of Public Security - General To Lam; Politburo member, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - General Luong Cuong; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission Bui Thi Minh Hoai; leaders, former leaders of ministries, departments, branches, central agencies, provinces, cities and tens of thousands of people from all over the country, overseas Vietnamese and international tourists.

From early morning, the delegates gathered in full force in front of the ceremony yard at the central area of the Hung Temple Festival. In a solemn atmosphere, with deep music, at exactly 6:30, the delegation along with the ritual group, the palanquin procession, and offerings departed from the ceremony yard, gradually moving through the Nghi Mon, Ha Temple, Trung Temple, and up to Thuong Temple.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led a delegation of leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches, central agencies, provinces, cities, Phu Tho province and people to attend the incense offering ceremony.

At Kinh Thien Palace, on the sacred Nghia Linh mountain, with a sincere heart to pay tribute to the ancestors, demonstrating the Vietnamese people's morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other Party, State and local leaders went to the Upper Palace to offer incense and flowers, expressing deep gratitude to the ancestors who built the country so that descendants could continue the Lac Hong tradition to build a rich and civilized Vietnam like today.

In the sacred moment of the Hung Kings' Death Anniversary, millions of Vietnamese hearts at home and abroad turn to Hung Temple with sincere hearts to remember and show gratitude for the merits of the Hung Kings and our ancestors who built and defended the country.

The congratulatory speech presented by the leaders of Phu Tho province at the incense offering ceremony clearly stated the remembrance of the ancestors, the Hung Kings who opened the source of the nation, established the Van Lang State; opened mountains, broke rocks, laid the foundation for the nation and people to prosper forever. Generation after generation, spanning thousands of years, the King loved the people, the whole country was of one heart, the whole people were united, and they were loyal compatriots.

Throughout the historical process of building and defending the country, successive generations of Lac Hong descendants have gone through many struggles with countless hardships and challenges; forged a tradition of solidarity, indomitability with ardent patriotism; the will to be self-reliant, self-reliant and deeply proud of the nation; created glorious feats, built independence, preserved the country, affirmed sovereignty, and protected national interests.

Continuing the heroic historical tradition of building and defending the country, over the past 90 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, our nation and people have brought into full play the strength of great national unity and revolutionary heroism; overcome all hardships and sacrifices; steadfastly fought to preserve independence, protect sovereignty and unify the Fatherland; continued to build the foundation, bring the country to comprehensive innovation and development; enhance potential, position and international prestige; achieved great achievements of historical significance in the cause of building and defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.

In 2023 and the first months of 2024, our country still faces many challenges from unfavorable external factors; along with internal limitations and shortcomings and difficulties arising from practice. In that context, with the participation of the entire political system, under the leadership of the Party and the State; the proactive, active and accompanying role of the National Assembly; the drastic, flexible and practical direction and management of the Government; the efforts of all levels, sectors and localities; the cooperation and support of international friends; and the solidarity and active support of the entire people; our country has gradually overcome difficulties; effectively handled outstanding and long-standing issues; flexibly and appropriately adapted and achieved many important and comprehensive results in all fields.

However, besides the opportunities and advantages that are opening up, there are also many difficulties and challenges ahead. The descendants of Lac Hong vow to continue the tradition of the Dragon and Fairy, striving with all their might for the cause of building and defending the country of their ancestors; upholding the spirit of patriotism and revolution; the will of independence, self-reliance, and self-reliance; promoting the strength of great national unity combined with the strength of the times; joining hands, being unanimous, determined, and making greater efforts; seizing opportunities and advantages, firmly overcoming difficulties; building our country to be increasingly strong, prosperous, civilized, and happy; firmly protecting independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, bringing glory to the Fatherland and the Vietnamese legacy.

The descendants of Lac Hong vow to forever remember the advice of President Ho Chi Minh: "The Hung Kings had the merit of building the country; We, your descendants, must together protect the country"; pray for the Holy Ancestor's spirit to protect and bless the country to be prosperous, the nation to be peaceful, the people to be safe, and the hundreds of families to live forever; bless favorable weather, harmonious winds, good health, and prosperity; for the whole country to overcome difficulties and challenges, and successfully carry out the set goals and tasks; for the descendants of Lac Hong across the country and our overseas compatriots to always be healthy, peaceful, and happy.

Immediately after the incense offering ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates laid wreaths and burned incense at the Hung Kings' Mausoleum; offered flowers at the bas-relief of Uncle Ho talking to officers and soldiers of the Vanguard Army Corps at the Den Gieng Five-Way Intersection.

The incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings is the most important main activity in the series of events during the Hung Temple Festival and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of Giap Thin 2024 to honor the tradition of patriotism, arouse the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" and the strength of great national unity towards the origin, gratitude to the merits of ancestors; at the same time, preserve and promote the value of cultural heritage associated with tourism development in the homeland of the Ancestral Land.

The Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary - Hung Temple Festival and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in 2024 will take place from April 9 to 18 (ie March 1 to 10 of the lunar calendar) at the Hung Temple Historical Site (Viet Tri City) and districts, towns and cities in Phu Tho province.

The ceremony includes: The death anniversary of the national ancestor Lac Long Quan and incense offering in memory of Mother Au Co; the incense offering ceremony for the death anniversary of the Hung Kings; and the incense offering ceremony in memory of the Hung Kings of localities in the province.

The festival harmoniously combines traditional and modern folk cultural activities, sports and tourism events, demonstrating the unique cultural identity of the Ancestral Land, creating a wide spread, especially the art program and high-altitude fireworks display at Van Lang Park Lake taking place on the evening of the 9th of the third lunar month in Viet Tri City.
