On the afternoon of April 7th, the last day of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holiday, the main roads leading into the center of Hanoi were crowded.

Observations at the Phap Van - Do Muoi intersection, heading from National Highway 1B towards the center of Hanoi, show that traffic is extremely heavy and movement is difficult.

Despite the rough and difficult-to-navigate sidewalks here, many people still try to walk on them to "escape" the traffic jam.
Mr. Nguyen Hai (from Bac Ninh province) said that the volume of vehicles converging on the city center has increased significantly.
"Traveling is quite easy on the suburban roads, but the closer you get to the city center, the more traffic there is, and movement slows down," said Hai.

Meanwhile, at the end of the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, heading towards the city center and onto the elevated Ring Road 3, traffic is moving slowly, causing a congestion of about 2km.

A representative from Highway Traffic Police Team No. 3 (Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security ) stated that the unit has deployed officers and soldiers to be on duty at the end of the highway to manage traffic flow.

According to the Traffic Police representative, the volume of vehicles heading towards the end of the highway is expected to continue increasing until tonight (April 7th).

It was also observed that some vehicles deliberately entered the highway emergency lane to avoid traffic congestion.

At another gateway to the center of Hanoi, the Ngoc Hoi - Giai Phong intersection, the volume of motorbikes is heavy and continuously increases in the late afternoon.

People carrying a lot of luggage also contribute to slow traffic and localized congestion at intersections.

Road Traffic Police Team No. 14 (Hanoi City Police Traffic Department) deployed 100% of its officers and soldiers to perform traffic management and congestion control duties.

As 6 PM approached, the volume of vehicles from the districts of Thuong Tin, Thanh Tri, and others converging on the southern gateway to the capital city increased even further.
