* The Martyrs' Monument, known in Arabic as Maqam Echahid, is the national symbol of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, located on El Hamma Hill overlooking the capital Algiers. The monument was inaugurated in 1982 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Algeria's Independence Day (1962 - 1982) to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of their country.

The structure is about 92m high, standing out with its 3 "arches" reaching up to the sky, symbolizing the 3 main branches of the Algerian revolutionary force, and also symbolizing the 3 stages of the nation's struggle for independence. At the top is the eternal flame (Flamme Éternelle), symbolizing the immortal spirit of the heroic martyrs. At the foot of the monument is a complex including the Veterans Museum (Musée national du Moudjahid), spaces displaying images, documents and artifacts about the liberation resistance (1954 - 1962).
Not only does it have historical and artistic value, Maqam Echahid is also a convergence point of national memory - a place to hold national memorial ceremonies, welcome heads of state and international delegates, and is a place to educate the young generation of Algeria about patriotic traditions.
Laying wreaths at the Algerian Martyrs' Monument, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation respectfully bowed in admiration and respect to the soldiers and revolutionary heroes who sacrificed their lives for the national independence of Algeria and the national liberation movement.
* Next, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation visited the National Museum of Algerian Veterans. This is one of the leading cultural and historical museums in Algeria, which began construction on November 17, 1981 and was officially inaugurated on November 1, 1984, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Algerian Uprising for Independence against French colonialism.

The museum collects, preserves and displays artifacts and documents related to Algeria's military history from prehistoric to modern times. The museum currently holds about 8,000 artifacts, including weapons, military uniforms, documents, maps, photographs, paintings, statues, archaeological artifacts and military equipment.
Notably, placed in a prominent position is the list of the first countries to recognize the revolutionary government in Algeria, including Vietnam; at the same time, there are many artifacts and documents introducing Vietnam, especially Vietnam's struggle for national independence and the Vietnam - Algeria relationship.

Visiting the Museum, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that although Algeria and Vietnam are geographically far apart, they have many similarities, especially in the process of fighting for and protecting national independence; the two countries are united, have a long-standing friendly relationship and tradition. The Prime Minister suggested that both sides promote the spirit of working together to build a prosperous and developed country in the new era.
* Also at the National Museum of Algerian Veterans, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the launching ceremony of the book "Dien Bien Phu" in Arabic.

The book Dien Bien Phu by General Vo Nguyen Giap has been published many times and with each publication, the General has supplemented, edited and perfected it. The book was reprinted in 2024 and is now published in Arabic.
This book has been revised and supplemented with a number of articles, documents and historical events related to the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, collected and selected by Mr. Vo Hong Nam - the General's son. The book's content includes 3 parts: President Ho Chi Minh's letter to the Dien Bien Phu front; Dien Bien Phu; articles about Dien Bien Phu.
In addition, the book also has an Appendix providing a number of orders, letters, mobilization orders, attack orders, reports, and a timeline of the main events of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign...
The publication and release of the book “Dien Bien Phu” in Arabic in Algeria demonstrates the respect and affection between the Vietnamese and Algerian peoples, especially in the struggle to gain and protect national independence.
