The meeting helped to encourage the spirit of the Vietnamese women's football team as the team prepares to participate in the 2023 Women's World Cup held in New Zealand and Australia.
Meanwhile, the Australian U20 team had a training session with Vietnamese female players, before participating in the 2024 Asian Women's Cup qualifiers.
The two Prime Ministers encouraged and asked about the Vietnamese women's team and the Australian U20 team. Sharing with the Vietnamese women's team, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the girls of the Vietnamese team should not put too much pressure on themselves when competing at the 2023 World Cup, and should always be comfortable. In football, everyone wants to win, but they should strive to win for themselves first, compete with all their might for the flag and try for the spirit of sportsmanship.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Football Federation to create the best conditions for the players.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stressed that the Women's World Cup is the third most watched event in the world, after the Men's World Cup and the Olympic Games. The Australian Prime Minister said that no matter where you are in the world, sport brings people together.
Mr. Anthony Albanese also spoke about the similarities between football and international relations when there are players playing on the same field, following the rules, competing in the spirit of mutual respect.

Australian Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski said, "Sport is an important part of Australian and Vietnamese culture. We want to encourage the development of sport for women and girls and demonstrate the power of sport to change lives and promote gender equality. We look forward to the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next month."

UNICEF Representative in Viet Nam Rana Flowers shared that women and girls have changed the face of football, and football is changing their lives - because sport has the power to unleash the potential of women and girls and encourage them to keep going.
They broke a gender barrier in sport, proving that women and girls can do it, can pursue their dreams, and inspiring millions of women and girls around the world.
