Mr. Wouter van Wersch, President of Airbus Group, wishes to continue to cooperate with Vietnam Airlines to modernize its fleet; propose cooperation in the field of space technology, especially providing advanced optical satellite solutions to continue the success of VNREDSat1 satellite; as well as cooperation in using fuels in an economical, environmentally friendly direction, developing artificial intelligence, AI, etc.

Appreciating Airbus’s successful cooperation with Vietnamese partners, including the VNREDSat-1 satellite project, the Prime Minister suggested that Airbus cooperate more extensively in the aviation sector with Vietnam through aircraft purchase and sale contracts at reasonable prices and early delivery; technology transfer, human resource training, aircraft warranty and maintenance; and in the long term, cooperation in research and production of aircraft components; space exploitation, etc.

Safran (2005) is a French multinational aerospace and defense corporation that designs, develops, and manufactures aircraft engines, helicopter engines, spacecraft propulsion systems, and other military and aerospace equipment. As of 2024, the company has 100,000 employees worldwide and a turnover of €27.3 billion, making it a leading company in the world and in its key markets in its field of activity.
Safran Group began operating in Vietnam in 1994 and officially opened a representative office in 1997, establishing cooperative relationships with many domestic partners. In the aviation sector, the group supplies engines and equipment to Vietjet, Vietravel, Bamboo Airways and participates in the project to buy 50 aircraft from Vietnam Airlines. The group signed a contract worth 8 billion USD with VietjetAir on the purchase and maintenance of CFM engines for 200 737 Max aircraft, signed during the visit to France by General Secretary and President To Lam (October 2024).
The group's leaders expressed interest and proposed cooperation contents in the aviation sector, plans for airport development and aviation infrastructure development, as well as key industries or sectors that Vietnam prioritizes.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the Group's effective business cooperation activities in Vietnam, shared some strategic development orientations of Vietnam in the field of aviation and space; proposed that Safran participate in supporting the development of the aviation and space industry in Vietnam in the coming time, discuss and coordinate with the Ministry of Science and Technology, other agencies and partners to concretize cooperation activities, study the possibility of implementing the next projects, in accordance with the needs and technological orientation of Vietnam.
