The 2024 military enlistment date is approaching. The Military Service Councils of Thuan Nam and Ninh Phuoc districts are urgently making final preparations to send young men selected for military service to fulfill their civic duty to the Fatherland.

In 2024, Thuan Nam district was assigned the target of recruiting 131 young men to join the army, of which 21 young men were assigned to the Provincial Police and 110 young men were assigned to military units including: Infantry Division 2 (Military Region 5) 70 soldiers, Provincial Border Guard Command 20 soldiers, Infantry Regiment 896 (Provincial Military Command) 20 soldiers. Comrade Truong Xuan Vy, Chairman of the District People's Committee, Chairman of the Thuan Nam District Military Service Council said: Determining that the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army is an important content in performing local military and defense tasks, so as soon as the target was assigned by the province, the District Military Service Council advised the Party Committee and the authorities to issue complete leadership and direction documents and organize the implementation of all stages and steps in accordance with the military recruitment process to ensure publicity, fairness, and compliance with the provisions of law. In addition, the district also directed the Commune-level Military Service Council to strengthen its members with sufficient quantity and composition, improve the quality of effective operations, and promote propaganda and dissemination of the Military Service Law to villages, neighborhoods, and families with youth of military age.

This year, the military recruitment work continues to be carried out in a localized manner, so to ensure that the selection and calling of citizens to join the army meets the requirement of "whoever is recruited, that person is sure", the Military Service Council of Thuan Nam district has assigned specific responsibilities to each member to closely follow the locality to help the communes from the time of reviewing the records to finalizing the number of soldiers, so the quality of soldiers recruited for military service this year is generally higher than last year; including 1 party member who joined the army, 2 university graduates, 3 college graduates and 36 high school graduates, accounting for 27.5%. In order for the military service work to achieve results, the members of the Military Service Council at two levels in the district during this time continue to work on infiltration, grasp the situation of soldiers and their families recruited for military service; at the same time, focus on propagating the Military Service Law, and implementing well the policies of the military rear. Up to now, the preparation work for the military service day of the district is ready; 100% of the district's new recruits are present in the locality, mentally secure, and ready to join the army.

In Phuoc Minh commune, the activities of visiting and giving gifts by the Party Committee, the government, and organizations to encourage young people to join the army have created an enthusiastic and joyful atmosphere spreading throughout the residential areas where young people have passed the military service. Mr. Vo Duy Thieu, Commander of the Commune Military Command, said: During the recent Lunar New Year, the departments and branches of the commune organized to mobilize, visit, and give gifts to young people preparing to join the army. Currently, 15/15 young people who passed the military service of the commune have arrived in the locality; the young people are all mentally secure, determined to do their tasks well, and ready to join the army. Lieutenant Colonel Le Xuan Toan, Political Commissar of the District Military Command, said: Carrying out the military recruitment task and the policies of all levels on the selection and calling of citizens to join the military, Ninh Phuoc district has focused on disseminating the Law on Military Service and documents guiding the implementation of the law to raise awareness of responsibility and civic duty to participate in military service to protect the Fatherland. As the standing agency of the District Military Service Council, the District Military Command has closely followed the requirements of military recruitment according to the local method to complete the step of "recruiting soldiers, ensuring that they are strong", recruiting enough quantity and ensuring quality. Carrying out the selection stages publicly, fairly, democratically, creating high consensus and unanimity among the people. The two-level Military Service Council also organized the "3 meetings, 4 knowledge" infiltration - meeting citizens, families, localities; knowing the health, culture, background, and moral qualities of each citizen according to regulations. Accordingly, out of 267 youths of the district who were recruited this year, 37 were assigned to the police and 230 were assigned to military units, including: Brigade 957, Navy Region 4, 130 soldiers; Brigade 5, Special Forces, 75 soldiers and Infantry Regiment 896 (Provincial Military Command), 25 soldiers. The percentage of youths with health categories 1 and 2 accounted for 63.2% of the military; 3 youths who were recruited were party members; 93 youths who were recruited were Cham and Raglai ethnic minorities; 1 youth had a college degree; 221 youths had an education level of grade 9 or higher, accounting for 82.7%.

To ensure that the military service meets the target and quality, the Party committees, authorities, especially the Military Service Councils of communes and towns in Ninh Phuoc district are coordinating with organizations to promote propaganda, monitoring, and grasping the thoughts of young people. At the same time, they are paying attention to doing a good job of the military rear, thereby creating trust, excitement, and peace of mind for families with young people who have passed the military service. At the same time, the departments, branches, and organizations of the district, communes, and towns are also actively organizing activities to meet and visit young people and families with young people who have joined the army to ensure that the military service in the district takes place safely and in accordance with regulations.
