According to Ms. Thuy, Vietnam has many trade advantages, thanks to its geographical location as a gateway to Southeast Asia, a developed seaport system, abundant labor resources and competitive costs, and diverse and high-quality export products.
The Vietnamese Government is promoting administrative reforms and infrastructure investment to support import and export activities, supporting businesses through a variety of trade promotion programs, providing market information and technical assistance.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy said that a survey by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) on the trend of continuing to expand business ranked Vietnam as a desirable destination to expand business activities in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), with more than 60% of Japanese enterprises planning to continue to expand in Vietnam in the future.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy emphasized that Vietnam is proactive and selective in attracting and integrating foreign investment based on quality, efficiency, technological progress and environmental friendliness. Priority is given to projects with high technology, environmental friendliness, modern management systems, spillover effects, technology transfer, and connection to global supply and value chains.
