Promoting green tourism development connections

Within the framework of the Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025, on the morning of June 6, in Lao Cai city, the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee organized a seminar on "Connecting green tourism development". At the seminar, delegates proposed many solutions to promote green tourism connection between regions and localities for sustainable development.

The seminar was attended by scientists , managers, domestic and foreign tourism businesses, and sustainable development experts from Thailand, China, and the French Republic.

Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, said that in the context of globalization, developing green tourism has become an inevitable trend; it not only brings economic benefits, but also contributes to protecting the environment, preserving cultural identity and improving the quality of community life.

In recent years, Lao Cai province has issued many policies and orientations to plan for the development of green and sustainable tourism , while creatively and flexibly applying appropriate solutions to promote the development of the tourism industry in this direction, based on three main pillars: Environment, economy and society.

Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh hopes that the opinions discussed in the seminar will contribute to further deepening the vision, as well as the core values ​​in maintaining the principles of sustainable development of Lao Cai tourism industry.

At the Seminar, experts, scientists, managers, and domestic and foreign tourism businesses affirmed: Reality shows that the global environment is facing climate change and profound changes, including the impact of tourism consumption behavior. To overcome this phenomenon, developing “Green Tourism” is no longer an option, but has become an inevitable requirement. Tourism cannot continue to develop according to a model that consumes resources, causes pollution, and trades off indigenous culture for short-term growth.
