With the significant positive impact of the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), the prospect of exporting to the EU market is increasingly strong, leading to the prospect of increased income for tens of millions of workers participating in the production chain, contributing to promoting growth, towards a green, circular economy .

In the context of the complicated fluctuations of the world economy, however, Binh Thuan province's commodity exports in 2024 still maintained growth momentum, increasing by 11.29% over the previous year. Of which, the seafood group reached 225.9 million USD, up 6.83%; the agricultural group reached 23.2 million USD, up 68.62% over the same period, other commodity groups reached 542.4 million USD, up 11.6% over the same period. Direct exports in 2024 are estimated at 785 million USD, up 11.97% over the previous year. Of which, the European market reached 62.5 million USD, up 45.35%. In the first quarter of 2025, the export turnover of goods of Binh Thuan province continued to grow, estimated at 211.6 million USD, up 34.29% over the same period, the industrial production index of the whole industry increased by 7.15% over the same period last year. Accordingly, in the first quarter of 2025, the industrial production index of Binh Thuan province increased by 7.15% over the same period. The activities of enterprises in industrial parks (IPs) basically remained stable. 6/9 IPs deployed infrastructure investment with 65 enterprises going into production and business activities, including 44 domestic enterprises and 21 foreign-invested enterprises with a total of 91 projects. All three commodity groups grew strongly, namely the seafood group estimated at 58 million USD, up 18.8% over the same period last year, the agricultural product group estimated at 8.62 million USD, up 2.83 times over the same period last year, dragon fruit alone estimated at 3.3 million USD, up 11.42%, other commodity groups estimated at 145 million USD, up 37.16% over the same period. Accumulated import turnover in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated at 425.4 million USD, up 36.32% over the same period last year.

Sustainable exports meet practical requirements

In order for the province's products to continue to be exported to demanding markets, especially the EU market, it is necessary to continue to prioritize research on regulations and standards related to circular economy, eco-design, toxic chemical management, waste management and regulations on recycled content for some materials to meet international regulations and standards. Focus on technical support on green transformation to promote businesses to switch to sustainable production and business models, apply cleaner production solutions and efficient use of resources, use energy economically and efficiently, encourage the use of recycled materials and renewable energy. At the same time, promote support for the application of product life cycle assessment tools and greenhouse gas emission inventories to meet the requirements, standards and green regulations of the European Union. Strengthen scientific research activities and technology application, innovation, promote digital transformation to meet practical requirements and development trends of the digital economy and the 4.0 industrial revolution. Focus on research and development of new, recycled, renewable raw materials, green and environmentally friendly chemicals to create sustainable products. Develop and support certification and eco-labeling activities for sustainable products to meet market requirements and international regulations. In addition, promote trade promotion, organize green fairs to connect supply and demand of sustainable products, eco-labeled products. Promote sustainable links between parties in the chain, support domestic enterprises to participate in domestic and global sustainable chains. Continue to develop and complete legal documents on environmental protection and climate change, organize the implementation of the national action plan on circular economy, promote the development, completion and implementation of policies and regulations on waste management, regulations on collection of discarded and expired products, regulations to limit the elimination of toxic waste in products in sectors and industries that are greatly affected by the EU's green policy. In particular, promote the application of solutions for waste classification at source, increase collection, collection, reduction, reuse, recycling, limit waste generation and minimize negative impacts on the environment. Promote training, capacity building, dissemination and guidance on the implementation of regulations and policies on green, circular economy, climate change response and green growth, sustainable development in sectors and industries under the state management of ministries. Prioritize the implementation of solutions, arrange and mobilize appropriate resources in implementing programs and tasks related to sustainable development, circular economy, sustainable production and consumption, energy saving and efficiency, environmental protection, climate change response and green growth.
