According to Resolution No. 188 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on implementing the program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, the whole province supports the construction and repair of 2,472 houses for approved subjects. Of which, 951/951 new construction projects have been completed (basically completed before the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025) and 1,342 repair projects are being urgently completed (according to the approved list, there are 1,521 households but 179 households have not implemented).
In Cao Loc district, there are 112 households receiving support for repairs. During the implementation process, the district encountered some difficulties and problems such as the custom of choosing the date and age for home repair, which affected the progress of the project. As of March 21, there were 9 houses in the area that had not been repaired, and as of March 31, there were still 7 houses that had not started construction.
Mr. Nong Sy Huynh, Chairman of the District Fatherland Front Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee (SC) to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Cao Loc district, said: In the face of difficulties arising, the SC from the district to the grassroots level has propagated and explained to people to change their thinking and habits, flexibly using solutions such as "borrowing" the age of the homeowner to start construction to repair the house and received the consent of the families. By early April 2025, 7/7 remaining projects had started to repair; the previous projects are also speeding up progress, of which 91 projects have been completed.
In Van Quan district, there are 266 houses in need of repair according to Resolution No. 188. By March 21, 2025, the district has completed 159/266 projects, accounting for 60%, of which 46 projects have been completed. During the implementation process, the district also encountered some difficulties and problems and directed timely solutions. As a result, by March 31, 266/266 projects had started repair, reaching 100%, of which 92 houses were completed, the remaining houses had an average completion volume of about 70%. The district strives to complete all projects by April 15, 2025.
Like the above two localities, in the past time, districts and cities in the whole province have synchronously deployed many solutions to speed up the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses according to Resolution No. 188. Comrade Nguyen Hoang Tung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and developing social housing in the province, said: In the past time, the Steering Committee has closely followed and strongly directed all levels, sectors, districts and cities in the province to implement the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. For the repair works according to Resolution No. 188 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, this is the urgent stage of completion, the Steering Committee has regularly directed, inspected and urged to ensure the set progress. In particular, districts are required to develop specific plans and implementation roadmaps, keep daily and weekly implementation logs in communes and towns, promptly remove arising difficulties and problems, and contribute to ensuring overall progress.
In addition, some departments responsible for supporting the implementation of projects in the district have also proactively deployed support forces to speed up the progress. For example, in Loc Binh district, the provincial police department is responsible for supporting the construction and repair of houses for families according to Resolution No. 188. After completing phase 1 of supporting the construction of 292 new projects, from mid-January 2025 to now, the unit continues to mobilize forces at the grassroots level to support the implementation of phase 2 of repairing projects, with 68 houses. As a result, from mid-January 2025 to March 29, the police force of communes and towns in Loc Binh district has supported the repair of 68/68 houses for families, one month ahead of schedule according to the plan.
With great efforts, as of early April 2025, the whole province has started repairing 1,231/1,342 houses according to Resolution No. 188 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, reaching 91.7%, an increase of 53 works compared to March 21, of which nearly 870 works have been completed, an increase of 121 works compared to March 21. With the determination of the entire political system, the support of organizations, individuals, businesses and people of all walks of life, it is believed that from now until April 30, the whole province will complete 100% of the works according to the plan, helping families have solid, spacious houses, ensuring safety, creating motivation to gradually improve their lives, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
