The Department of Education and Training (DET) of Thanh Hoa province has just issued Official Dispatch No. 4159 /SGDĐT-GDPT to the People's Committees of communes and wards regarding not assigning homework to primary school students.

Strictly follow the regulations, absolutely do not give homework to primary school students.

Thanh Hoa Province Department of Education and Training requires absolutely no homework to be given to primary school students.

The document clearly stated that, in recent times, with the attention and direction of authorities at all levels, most primary schools and schools with primary classes (hereinafter referred to as schools) have seriously implemented directives, guidelines, and current regulations on extra teaching and learning, implementing the 2018 General Education Program at the primary level, on selecting and using textbooks, reference materials, and assigning homework to students... These efforts have been recognized and highly appreciated by parents and society. However, there are still some schools and teachers who have not complied with regulations, including assigning homework to primary school students.

To promptly rectify the above situation, the Department of Education and Training requests the People's Committees of communes and wards to direct schools in the area to strictly implement the directives and instructions of superiors and current regulations on extra teaching and learning, implementation of the 2018 General Education Program at the primary level, on the selection and use of textbooks and reference materials. At the same time, continue to improve the quality of teaching 2 sessions/day, teachers are responsible for organizing and guiding students to complete learning tasks right in class, ensuring students study easily, enthusiastically and effectively. Absolutely do not assign homework to students whose schools have organized 2 sessions/day.

The provincial Department of Education and Training requires school principals to be responsible before the People's Committees of communes and wards if teachers violate current regulations on extra teaching and learning, on implementing the 2018 General Education Program at primary level, on selecting and using textbooks and reference materials, especially assigning homework to students; regularly inspect, monitor and remind teachers to strictly implement the regulations.

The Department of Education and Training requests the People's Committees of communes and wards to pay attention to directing and requesting schools to seriously implement.
