- From mid-May 2025, Traffic Police Department , Lang Son Provincial Police organized the first road motor vehicle driving test after taking over the task from the Department of Transport (formerly), now the Department of Construction. The testing and issuance of driving licenses were ensured to be smooth, following the correct procedures, creating convenience for the people.

According to the reporter's records, on May 16, 2025, over 300 students gathered at Minh Long Driving Training and Testing Center (Binh Phuc Commune, Van Quan District). Here, right from the entrance gate, the center's staff and the traffic police were on duty to enthusiastically guide the students. Some students who were still confused and filled in the wrong information were instructed to correct it right before the test time. At the same time, when it was time for the test, all test sections were conducted under the close supervision of the traffic police. Mr. Vi Van Bang, Thuong Cuong Commune, Chi Lang District shared: from early morning, when I came to do the test procedures, I was guided very enthusiastically and thoughtfully by the traffic police. Thanks to that, I saved time and felt more secure when taking the test.

During the test, candidates will take all the theoretical tests on the computer, simulate traffic situations, practice tests on the testing ground and on the road. For the theoretical test, candidates must answer 30 questions on the computer within 20 minutes and must get at least 27/30 correct answers. The driving skills test in the picture is conducted within 10 minutes, requiring candidates to score 80/100 points. As one of the candidates who took the first test organized by the Traffic Police, Ms. Hoang Thi Tham, Bac Son town, Bac Son district said: I found the test organized according to the process, from the theoretical to the practical part, everything took place openly and transparently; the officers on duty were very serious, maintained a standard demeanor and enthusiastically supported the students.

It is known that the current driving test process has a new point compared to the past, in that the test taker will receive the results immediately after each part of the test. If a part is not passed, he/she can still register to retake the test in the next round. For example, if a student fails the theory test and passes the simulation test, he/she will continue to take the practical test on the driving track and the road. Then the student will register to take the theory test in the next round, ...

Along with the new points in organizing driving tests, the Provincial Police's acceptance of the testing and issuance of driving licenses is a major transition, requiring not only organization but also a change in awareness among the enforcement staff. Lieutenant Colonel Phuong Thuc Dinh, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police affirmed : The most important goal of the testing to issue driving licenses is to improve the quality of vehicle drivers and ensure traffic safety. The organization of the test is carried out seriously and professionally to properly assess the capacity and skills of learners, thereby granting driving licenses to individuals who are truly qualified, contributing to reducing traffic accidents. This is also an important step to enhance the effectiveness of state management in the field of training, testing and issuing driving licenses more strictly and effectively.

In the coming time, the Traffic Police Department will continue to promote the sense of responsibility, take the lead in coordinating with the Department of Construction, driving training centers and facilities and related units to carefully prepare the content for the examination, continue to advise and organize the next examinations in a scientific manner, ensuring timely and quick resolution of the needs and legitimate interests of the people; thoroughly resolve the backlog of untested records in the shortest time. At the same time, regularly review the examination team, select and assign training staff to upgrade driving licenses to train and issue examination cards, ensuring enough examiners of all training levels to serve the requirements of the work.
