After 4 days of enshrinement at Truc Lam Yen Tu Palace (Quang Ninh), on the morning of May 28, the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni were escorted to Chuong Pagoda, Hung Yen province.
According to VTC News' reporter, on the morning of May 29, people from all over the northern provinces and cities flocked to Chuong Pagoda (Hien Nam Ward, Hung Yen City) to worship Buddha's relics.
The ancient temple was built in the 15th century under the Later Le Dynasty, which was already famous as "the most famous place in Pho Hien", and has now become the focus of devotion, prayers and emotions of tens of thousands of Buddhists and people. Chuong Pagoda is the last stop for Buddha's relics in the North, before continuing the journey to Ngu Hanh Son Pagoda ( Da Nang ).
A continuous stream of people followed each other from the parking lot, bus stops, down the paved roads leading to the Lecture Hall - where the Buddha's relics were enshrined in a solemn space.
Buddha's relics are enshrined in the 500m² Lecture Hall for people to worship during the event days.
Not only adults come to pray for peace, many families also bring their children to Chuong Pagoda to see Buddha's relics with their own eyes.
“I want my child to be exposed to Buddhism from a young age so that he can understand the value of compassion and peace of mind in life. In particular, seeing the Buddha's relics with his own eyes is a very sacred experience, helping my child to respect and cherish Buddhism more," said Ms. Lan Anh (in Hung Yen).
“My two friends and I rented a car to leave at 3am. We arrived at 6am, but it was almost 11am before we could enter the shrine. I only stood there for a few minutes, but my heart stopped. I believe I have just witnessed the most sacred thing in Buddhism. This may be the only time I have this opportunity in my life,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Lanh (67 years old, from Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province) emotionally.
"Whenever I feel tired, I remember the teachings of Buddha. Today, having visited the relics, I feel more confident in the Buddhist path, that all difficulties will pass if we persevere and maintain a compassionate and kind heart," said a Buddhist.
People line up to worship Buddha's relics at the Bell Pagoda on May 29.
Until 2:30 p.m. the same day, people continued to flock to Chuong Pagoda to worship Buddha's relics.
The Buddha's relics were brought to Ho Chi Minh City by plane on May 2, within the framework of the 2025 United Nations Vesak Celebration hosted by Vietnam. This is the first time in history that the Buddha's relics have been brought to Vietnam and enshrined at four locations: Thanh Tam Pagoda (Ho Chi Minh City), Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh), Quan Su Pagoda (Hanoi), and Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam).
On May 19, the Indian Government agreed to the proposal to extend the display of the relics in Vietnam by 10 days compared to the original schedule. The Buddha's relics will continue to be carried through the following locations: Bai Dinh Pagoda (Ninh Binh), Phuc Son Pagoda (Bac Giang), Truc Lam Yen Tu Palace (Quang Ninh), and Chuong Pagoda (Hung Yen). It is expected that on the morning of May 30, the Buddha's relics will arrive at Ngu Hanh Son Pagoda (Da Nang) - the final destination in the journey of enshrinement in Vietnam.
