Currently, singer Sy Ben is being treated for pleural effusion at Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital (HCMC). Singer Sy Ben's relatives informed that 2 weeks ago, singer Sy Ben had pain and discomfort in his chest. After being unable to bear it any longer, he had to go to Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital for a check-up. The doctor took an X-ray and diagnosed Sy Ben with pleural effusion, so he was required to be hospitalized immediately.
Informing the media, relatives of singer Sy Ben said that in the past few days, doctors have drained nearly 2 liters of fluid from his lungs. Sy Ben often complains of pain, afraid of "5 tubes being inserted into his body". If the medicine wears off, the male singer often loses sleep because of the pain. Sy Ben can only eat porridge and drink milk.
After 2 weeks of treatment, the singer's health improved slightly. However, Sy Ben is still very weak, unable to speak much or walk on his own. Sy Ben is facing financial pressure. With no money left, he asked his colleagues to donate to support hospital fees and daily living expenses.
Singer Sy Ben was a famous voice of Vietnamese music, in the period of Mua bui, 1990-2000 with Chinese songs with Vietnamese lyrics. In 2010, Sy Ben and his wife were accused by many colleagues of being in debt. After this incident, Sy Ben disappeared from the entertainment industry.
