Arriving very early and waiting for many hours to watch the parades and marches within the framework of the A80 Festival, many people had prepared all kinds of essential items.

On Hung Vuong Street, Dan Tri reporters noted that in addition to hand fans, drinking water, sun protection shirts, umbrellas, many families from neighboring localities also brought banh chung, gio cha, etc. to have a snack while waiting for the army and equipment to pass by.

The family of Ms. Do Thi Huong (50 years old, Hung Yen) went with her husband and little niece. For more than 10 days, every night she eagerly looked forward to the day she would go to Hanoi to watch the parade.

“Since last night, my husband and I went to the market to buy ham, sausage, and dried food to stave off hunger, and watermelon to quench our thirst. These foods contain starch and can be stored for a long time, which is very convenient for the whole family when we have to wait for many hours,” Ms. Huong shared.

The journey was not short, the whole family had to wait for the bus from dawn, and it was not until after 6am that they arrived at Hung Vuong Street. “Because we have small children in the family, we prepared some headache medicine in case it was hot,” Ms. Huong added.

Also present early in the morning was the family of Ms. Tran Thi Sen (31 years old, Hanoi). This time, she brought her grandparents from her hometown to Hanoi to be able to see the military parade with their own eyes.

“The cakes and banh chung packages are not only to stave off hunger, but for us they are also a way to bring the atmosphere of family reunion to the streets of Hanoi.

The whole family sat together, waiting for the parade to pass, sharing a piece of cake. It felt like a special picnic right in the heart of the capital," Ms. Sen shared.
