TPO - Thanh Xuan District People's Council has agreed in principle to invest in the project to improve the sidewalks of Nguyen Xien Street with a total estimated investment of more than 29 billion VND.

It is known that Nguyen Xien Street in Thanh Xuan District is about 500m long. However, many sidewalks on Nguyen Xien Street are being "plowed" to pieces.

The reason is that Nguyen Xien street is often overloaded with vehicles, especially during rush hour, so motorcyclists often climb onto the sidewalk to move.

On Monday morning, October 28, due to traffic congestion on Nguyen Xien Street towards Nguyen Trai - Khuat Duy Tien Intersection, many vehicles had to climb onto the sidewalk.

Meanwhile, many businesses have displayed their goods, occupying nearly half of the sidewalk.

Many sidewalk sections of Nguyen Xien Street from Nguyen Trai Intersection to Cau Dau are bumpy.

Many households even renovate the sidewalks in front of their homes to serve their business needs.

The car showroom owner also occupied the sidewalk to display products.

Nguyen Xien Street is the main traffic axis connecting the city center with the centers of some districts to the West.

According to the plan, along Nguyen Xien street there are 10 universities and colleges and many high-rise buildings with very high population density.

Thanh Xuan district’s decision to spend 29 billion VND to renovate the sidewalks of Nguyen Xien Street will contribute to urban beautification. However, the district also needs to strictly handle the situation of encroachment on sidewalks for business, parking, etc. Otherwise, after a period of renovation, the sidewalks will quickly deteriorate and become damaged.
